Build Suggestions
Added 2020-09-28 11:12:37 +0000 UTCBuild month is nearly upon us, so I thought it was only right to kick start the month with a post asking for all of your build suggestions. Go into a much detail as you like! Is it with or without cc? House or apartment? For a very succesful family or for a single sims just starting out? Is it a famous building you think would suit my style of building?
I'll be using the suggestions you post below as the spring board for the polls that will be running during the next month. Of course I won't be able to do the majority of them, but the more suggestions the better :)
Also can we all do a little prayer for the cc window & door batch fix, because I need those pretty items back in my life ASAP! 😭
Comments
Done! I built your suggestion last night & I'll be giving a sneak peek soon :)

2020-10-07 10:02:19 +0000 UTCa church/chapel that has been renovated into a residence! some kind of sunken home vibe, or something with a below street level courtyard area. a lot in granite falls with a bunch of cabins/cottages for rent, a dark and moody conservatory that's been turned into a restaurant, a grand old mansion with a pool in the basement, a budapest-style public bathhouse

2020-10-06 23:24:59 +0000 UTCSomething with a modern and vintage combo

2020-10-03 18:19:46 +0000 UTCWould love to see a modern lofted home in the style take of Mies van Der Rohe for a couple/small family..

2020-10-03 05:48:36 +0000 UTCI'm obsessed with Marcio Kogan houses, especially Paratay house. It would be cool to see something like that done well in the Sims.
2020-10-01 23:16:22 +0000 UTCA row of old London townhouses (like The ones in brichester) but with modern furnishings and a luxurious garden to show of the “Jardane” pack( one of my absolute faves !!) Lots of Love from Belgium
2020-10-01 10:04:54 +0000 UTCI'm always blown away by your public builds. Maybe a community center for a different town than Evergreen Harbor?

2020-09-30 06:11:35 +0000 UTCI would love to see a mid-century design house, a bit in the style of your dream appartment (which I really love). With a lot of Jeanneret, Perriand, Eames and more. Maybe in a parisian mansion called "hôtel particulier" in french. By the way, I would like to see you continue the london townhouse, good luck and keep up your amazing work !!
2020-09-29 22:56:18 +0000 UTC1) HOUSE please. 2) yes to CC but only your CC 3) something you have never done before but in your wheelhouse.
2020-09-29 18:03:00 +0000 UTCThree suggestions: 1) New Orleans French Quarter style building (retail plus living); 2) New Orleans shotgun style home; 3) renovated French country home: https://www.hellolovelystudio.com/2016/11/31-beautiful-french-farmhouse-style.html

2020-09-29 16:43:28 +0000 UTCA lavish Georgian, early 1900 mansion in DSV on the 64 x 64. With cc, duhhhh!
Erique K
2020-09-29 05:02:20 +0000 UTCWould love a large Georgian-era House/Estate with CC, even a Castle. Perhaps a series in a neighbourhood i.e Brindleton with the main house and then cottages/stables/summer home etc
Henry Kalaf
2020-09-29 00:47:16 +0000 UTCDel Sol Valley doesn't get enough love. I'd love a new celebrity lounge for the awards, or a super glamorous mansion on that 64x64 lot in the hills.
KQ
2020-09-28 22:42:54 +0000 UTCPersonally, I'd love to see you build a French chateau with modern touches. I tend to do this with yours and Felix CC. Would love anything but my suggestion would be a classic meets modern Chateau for a family of four with a couple dogs. also praying for a batch fix cause the windows and doors not working is driving a little insane. xx
Josh Sanchez
2020-09-28 22:21:54 +0000 UTCI'd also love for you to redo the two lounge venues in Del Sol valley in an old hollywood art deco style. But if you do, I'd really appreciate it if they were single purpose lots to make them better for actual game play.

2020-09-28 21:31:52 +0000 UTCI've always wanted a super fancy family mansion. Preferably Georgian with that lovely felixandre brick. Super rich, detail oriented people, who also happen to have a couple kids. I feel like some the other requests on here could fit well into this.
Luciana Keil
2020-09-28 21:30:23 +0000 UTCMaybe an addition to the rebuilding Windenburg in the style of Bath series? Or a continuation of the London Townhouses on YouTube? May be tough without CC windows/doors? We feel your pain!

2020-09-28 21:28:04 +0000 UTComg this!

2020-09-28 19:34:58 +0000 UTCA Victorian home, where it has been in the family for several centuries. The wife's family has handed the family home down and she is very determined to maintain it worldly charm and the husband would like to have a little more modern flare in some area's like his office. So there would have to be a good blend of old and new there. They have four children, 17 year old teenager who is a very rebellious goth girl, a 12 year old boy who is a sports junkie, an 8 year old girl who is a little princess and a little 1 year old independent and stubborn toddler. The mother is a stay at mother and part time author of childrens books. She loves to decorate her home is the Victorian Era, The home just recently had it's electricty updted to support a more eco footprint to make the father happy but the mother is very upset because it has put windmills in her beautieful garden.

2020-09-28 18:33:09 +0000 UTCThe house from the holiday. You know where Cameron Diaz lives in LA. Would absolutely love something like that, cc wouldn’t be a problem!
2020-09-28 18:28:37 +0000 UTCI'd love to see some good starter homes, that are actually less than $18,000. I don't use money cheats so all these humongous builds you see on websites and the gallery have zero interest for me. A couple of small 2 bed houses that are realistic starter homes. Within the budget given to a new created Sim. The extra vedroom to be a study, craft room or future nursery (deffo can tell I'm a family player)

2020-09-28 18:04:17 +0000 UTCThis is probably a long shot, but I am going to shoot my shot anyway. I know that everyone had done wedding venues to death. I’m also not sure, how much this fits into you style especially knowing your appreciation of barn style builds. But I would truly like a non-barn style wedding venue. I would love to have a more modern sophisticated type, something a little sleeker. On a penthouse lot would be magical, floor to celling windows with the nice city few. It would be amazing, and I am swooning just thinking about it. I have enough barn style wedding builds to last me a lifetime.

2020-09-28 16:22:44 +0000 UTCThere's some really pretty ruined arches in the Batuu live edit thingy menu. I'd love to see like and itallian restaurant or home with them arches in the garden, with fairy light and all that jazz. Super romantic, old building made to look modern and sleek with your CC x
Eleanor
2020-09-28 16:20:42 +0000 UTCI love the commercial lots that look like an English street, lots of shops side by side, and I'd love a jazz club/ speakeasy-style pub for playing music or karaoke. Personally I've had a lot of issues with previous builds of yours with lots of CC, for some reason it doesn't import right and the buildings are left incomplete. I'd prefer you stick to your own CC and base game, but ultimately I'm buying whatever you're selling. Thanks Harrie!

2020-09-28 15:06:48 +0000 UTCA small Scandinavian cottage next to a creek or waterfall would be so fun. Something hidden among trees and lush, overgrown vegetation... Maybe because it's October you could make a house from a movie like Midsommar or Ex Machina: http://www.home-designing.com/2015/05/ex-machina-movie-house Also this house is bonkers: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/7368000 Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Amy
2020-09-28 15:06:16 +0000 UTC1. I'd like to suggest a Scandinavian style house. It can be modern or not that's up to you. Very typical houses, at least in Norway, is to have bedrooms on the first floor and living room and kitchen on the second floor with a nice balcony from the living room and sometimes also from the kitchen. Some houses has a re-built attic or basement floor made into extra bedroom, extra living room, office or so on. 2. If I can have another suggestion? I have always wanted to try and make "Bryggen in Bergen" in the Sims. I am not the greatest builder but if anyone can do it it must be you! You are an amazing builder :) Just a part of Bryggen with some of the wooden Hanseatic Houses. If you google Bryggen in Bergen or Hanseatic Houses in Bergen you will find a lot of reference images. You can make it a pub, restaurant or retail store. "Sjøboden" is a pub, "Madam Felle" is a restaurant with a live music scene and then there's a lot of souvenir stores, a fishing store, knitting store and also a Christmas store to give a few suggestions of what's there. I think you will need the use of CC for both of these builds.

2020-09-28 14:31:50 +0000 UTCI'd like to see some of Louis Sullivan's Chicago buildings, or some of Frank Lloyd Wright's buildings that aren't Fallingwater. But mainly, Louis Sullivan - I think his style suits yours, but isn't EXACTLY what you always do! Also CC would be the only way to do this ;). https://www.artic.edu/archival-collections/digital-publications/louis-sullivan-collection/louis-sullivan-buildings-extant-in-chicago.

2020-09-28 13:26:19 +0000 UTCI would love to see an 18th century Rococo or Victorian style manor/estate using cc by you and FelixAndre. Featuring an ornate/elaborate façade ballroom or large garden maze that reveals a secluded hide away of sculptures and lush greenery. Or an old stone French Château that is somewhat of a fixer-upper also featuring cc by you and FelixAndre with grounds that include a vegetable patch and stables/workshop.
2020-09-28 12:16:46 +0000 UTCSo happy for you to use CC! Maybe stick to yours and FelixAndre? Everything I have outside that is a bit piecemeal. I'd love to see you make something super modern and architectural - there is a great video from The Modern House of a renovated British Pub - I think you could do something amazing with that: https://youtu.be/TEBpc9Q9TV8

2020-09-28 11:45:58 +0000 UTCAn old Farm converted into a family house, I've been trying to build one myself but I can't get the proportions to work. Also any bigger mansion or Victorian house, I seem to grow out of ideas for rooms when it comes to bigger builds that have lots of space. Think legacy challenges etc. Perhaps a Vet clinic? Some German fachwerk houses with a modern extension on to it? I really love the old historic origin but with a modern twist added on to it. Go wild with the CC, I own all your stuff and from Felix and other well known maxis match CC creators :)
2020-09-28 11:44:26 +0000 UTCWhatever you build is always amazing, but DEFINITELY use cc please!
katherine clark
2020-09-28 11:41:04 +0000 UTCGrey/brown modern one-floor plan
julia goertz
2020-09-28 11:39:45 +0000 UTCAlso I'd love equally to see some more builds with spaces for Sims to have some of the more bulky hobby items. Like a shed or studio for fabrication/woodworking/engineering.
2020-09-28 11:36:02 +0000 UTCIf you know Harry Seidler's work I would love to see you take on one of his modernist gems with CC. Anything modernist/mid-century modern would be amazing tbh 🌟🌼
2020-09-28 11:32:29 +0000 UTCMy two suggestions would be; 1: I would love to see a house with the Univerity addons! (even tho they are still broken ;( ) maybe something like "Apartment Block" or a Two-family house. And 2: A Modern House/Mansion. I have been trying to fill the 50x40 lot in Newcrest for ages, so I would love to see something big. :D And CC all the way ofc. ;)

2020-09-28 11:32:12 +0000 UTCEco shack with more then one bedroom, fabrication lab basement with felixandre content. Or a cute Subran but the first is cooler
2020-09-28 11:21:55 +0000 UTCA modern tiny home!
Renée
2020-09-28 11:20:12 +0000 UTCI would really like more restaurants and/or cafes :D Or a 60/70'ties inspired build could be cool too. You know the American mid-century style.
Louise Laursen
2020-09-28 11:18:09 +0000 UTCA quirky house with a small tower, hidden rooms and unexpected decor/elements. One that look like it might collapse anytime due to the architecture, but somehow it still stands. Would be for a Sim or more that like mysteries and/or are spellcasters/vampires. A lot of rooms but all of them are tiny, except the dining/living room area. Also has a basement for storage and with a little cinema.
2020-09-28 11:17:59 +0000 UTCWould be so cool to see you take on Hatley Castle, but there's definitely stuff we don't have in-game that you'd need to work around for stone walls on the roofs. Would also be a pretty big build 😅
Liam Cuthbert
2020-09-28 11:16:38 +0000 UTCAnd with CC!
Ava Brown
2020-09-28 11:16:31 +0000 UTCI’d love to see an elegant, luxurious family home for 5+ sims. I’d picture the interior as very neutral and transitional. Maybe something Hamptons-esque for Brindleton Bay!
Ava Brown
2020-09-28 11:16:05 +0000 UTCUltra modern house. Minimalistic, concrete, glass, wood. With CC. Else, traditional mansion with a lot of exterior details, towers and stuff 😇 more than one bedroom lol
