Yes, Compound V was dangerous. Yes, Compound V was illegal. But Hughie couldn’t see another way. After taking temp V, all Hughie wanted was to get powers again. The few times he had obtained and used them he had felt so in control. He knew he couldn’t take more of that after Butcher’s diagnostic but…he couldn’t stop thinking about it. So of course there was only one other option he could try.   Inject himself with regular compound V instead.  It was a simple solution…but difficult to execute. It took Hughie months to figure out how to get his hands on just a little bit of the liquid. He had to scour shady websites, backdoor forums, and even worse things…but it worked out. Eventually, he had discovered a seller.  It was almost two in the morning when Hughie met with the person. They met in one of those cliche shady alleys like it was out of a movie. “Are you the guy?” Hughie asked, walking up to the person. The man was dressed in a long overcoat with a receding hairline. The man sniffled with a running nose. “The fuck do I look like? The ice cream man? You got my money?” Hughie let out an ‘oh’ before patting his pockets until he pulled out a wad of cash.  The dealer flashed a toothy grin, he was missing a few too. But then he opened up his coat, flashing Hughie. It was then did Hughie discover the man was wearing literally nothing under his coat. “Oh! God…” The inside of the coat was lined with different bottles of colorful liquid. All compound V. “Go on. Pick one.” Hughie didn’t want to take long and none of the bottles were labeled. It was going to be a mystery. He grabbed a bottle of green liquid from the man’s coat and just as quickly the man closed it. “Alright, we’re done.” And before Hughie knew it the man was running off into the shadows.  Hughie placed the bottle into his pocket and returned home. His heart was pounding as he made his way back. Now he’d be a supe permanently.
