New pledge calculations, everyone stay cool

So anyone closely tracking how much the creators they support are getting may have noticed a big chunk just went missing. I don't know if Patreon emailed everyone who pledges with this update but just in case they didn't or you missed it, the new numbers now reflect how much they're /actually/ making, meaning they don't add in people who make pledges but then their cards are declined, stuff like that. Also I think it means if you pledge something, it won't show up until the beginning of the next month?

This doesn't change the milestones, but I suppose I should go in and update them to reflect these real dollar values. The only thing this really effects is how much money my parents think I make now. Maybe getting the pledge value back up to where it was should be a new milestone so I can show them my page again. :)

BTW I don't say this as much as I should but I want to thank everyone for all the support you've given the comic. I think of it every time I spend money now, seriously, like "I draw a funny comic and people like it enough that I can afford these grapes." It's amazing and I'm grateful. And grapefull.

That's weird; for me, Patreon groups everything together into one transaction.

I'm 39 years old and have spent 30 of those role-playing. If there is one thing I've perfected, its jury-rigged work around. 😃

Justaguy

That's a good tip. I had wondered why some people were supporting the comic with odd amounts, like X dollars and 12 cents.

Dave Barrack

Yeah, it was fixed by just adding a few cents to different transactions, so they don't read as identical. The issue seems to be primarily with master cards.

Justaguy

Ooh, that's a problem. That probably varies from bank to bank (or card to card) though, cause there are plenty of people that support multiple artists.

Dave Barrack

apparently if you pledge to 2 artists for the same amount one will bounce as a duplicate transaction since they're both charges to "patreon" going in within a few seconds of each other.

Justaguy

You do good work. That should be enough to be supported.

MaskedHuzzah

Ok... Calming down now... I was pretty excited there for a minute, but I've collected myself. :)

William Grams

You are most welcome! The time, effort, and sheer creativity you expend to not only draw and ink your art but simply to dream up the story itself is amazing! I wish I could afford to donate more!

Yay grapes! :D
