Really? Know of any? I'm trying to google it and not having much luck. Sounds cool.

Or they could be Persistant Illusions ... those have been documented as lasting for Millenia ...

Malcanthet Duffy

Only if they're conscious psychic projections. If they're unconscious, may be kept up like a heartbeat or similar.

Being illusions or projections, they would go away when she falls asleep and not just fall down.

... also dawned on me that with controlling the orbs movement psychically, she could give herself a back massage whenever she wanted.

It just dawned on me, and I now have my own headcanon about the orbs... Sydney's a gamer. The idea of leveling up is intrinsic to her. The orbs don't show up on any kind of scan (including Dabblers extended sight) The orbs are numbered 7, same as the dragon balls. Her level up system uses a sphere grid (FF10 was often claimed to have one of the most fun leveling systems), She 'discovered' the orbs while wreck diving off the keys (at lower depths, you can get narced which makes you a bit high). The orbs have already shown the ability to make forcefields and illusions. They float above her head like Ion stones (some of the best magic items you can get in D&D). The orbs are obviously psychically connected to her. The orbs' powers are a massive reflection of her own geekiness, and if scans show they're not there... maybe they aren't. Maybe the orbs themselves are solid illusions and they're just a projection of Sydney's own innate power. The orbs are a result of being narced (lowering inhibitions so her power could awaken) and hoping to find sunken treasure on her trip triggered her power to awaken appearing as a treasure.

Meh, I doubt this is the first time Dabbler has had food down her cleavage

Martin Croft

Sydney always surprises Dabbler. I like that.

Heh, reminds me of beta-testing an MMO on the first day of closed beta. No support, no help on what anything does, just putting points into things and trying to work out how the interface (that is likely not finished yet) works.
