2017-10-17 19:34:14 +0000 UTCI would think there could be some magics that could take out Maxima, unless she has some kind of magic immunity like the Imagine Breaker. She was hit by the debuff, it just wasn't powerful enough to stop her. For example, if gorgons were a thing and could turn you to stone just by eye contact. Still I'm not sure if that would get past Sydney's shield or not.

2017-09-07 21:29:49 +0000 UTCThey're going on about Supers, and with Sydney and Maxima there that makes sense, but let's not forget Dabbler. She's not a Super; she's just (arguably) a top-tier member of the Council. There have to be other supernatural folks in the world who are just as strong, or stronger than her, and she wasn't hampered at all by the guardian. Heck, she completely nullified its offensive power and cut through its defensive armor like they weren't even there. And that's with just her "standard loadout." Imagine how much that fight would have been a non-issue if she HAD prepared for it! :P

Like somebody from the US pretending at a British accent, it goes away when the person isn't actively "doing the British accent." People probably just put up with it and don't give him grief over "being a wampire."
