Trouble is the type of lives is never specified and Deus doesn't seem to kill people without good reason. That said we don't know everything Machina Industries dabbles in though we do know at least part it is part of the Military Industrial Complex. Also bear in mind outside the full lifespan (re: death by old age) in most mammals is comparable in terms of average heartbeats and even then the number of years it takes to get to that number of heartbeats is double in primates largely due to having a metabolism rate half that of comparable sized mammals.
