Yep. That NOPE from Sciona in the last panel would have sufficed, but there are more unsubtle hints. The explodey stuff gonna explode.

I am pretty sure Archon Online the newest MMORPG that is going to be next hype for over eons after Realm of Whatevercraft is already in the works. Consider all the microtransactions that can be put into it :P

Countdown to explosion/implosion begins

Autistic Observer

After this late night fight, Sidney need a day off to sleep late, being at the store and to say "Hi! guess who I am IRL *grin*" to her raid friends.

Wyrmhand

If anything. Dabbler should probably be hip to the idea that shooting the blood mage in her blood lair with blood runes is a bad idea because, well, more blood for the ritual (also Blood for the Blood God but that's a separate problem). Also. obligatory pun about Sciona now not having a leg to stand on.

Michael Obert

Or maybe dumping loads of blood on an incomplete sigil is the equivalent of dumping water on an incomplete circuit. Hooked up to that bomb that Dabbler just Not-Now-Sydney'd.

Nicholas Perrett

I thought the exact same thing here. Admittedly, Maxima was driven by extreme necessity at the time as Vehemence was already showing himself to be potentially more than the entire team could handle. This was just extreme violence towards an enemy who had not shown herself as that dangerous yet. Nonetheless, I am still with you.

Simon Magid

Heh, maybe she's a Bloodmage who faints at the site of her own blood :)

Andrew

Agreed, the Instant someone wants your consultation on something... and mentions the word "Demolitions" heavily invokes Maxim 2 and 3: 2. A Sergeant in motion outranks a Lieutenant who doesn't know what's going on.[2] 3. An ordnance technician at a dead run outranks everybody.[3]

If Dabbler literally meant "one second" it might be excusable, but anybody even vaguely genre savvy knows that a request like that is going to be at least as urgent as Sid makes out ;-)

Phil Boswell

to be quite fair, Giving Dabbler a lecture on not dis-membering the opposition seems both horribly ill timed and kind of hypocritical given that she herself chose to take Vehemence's arm off earlier. Doubly so given that they Know This enemy can regenerate, while Maxima had no real guarantee that Vehemence would not be stuck with one arm for the rest of his life, necessary as taking extreme measures was at the time.. Do love the Max, but she's so wrong here.
