If all the photons (and kinetic energy transferring particles for Cyclops) are moving away from the blastor, then they do not provide any glare to interfere with the blastor's vision. Also, Cyclops has protective eyewear, which obviously would be designed to filter out any backscatter. And as for Kal El, he's Superman.

Looks like Sciona did shoot Maxima, and then Sydney took over as designated target. "Wow! She didn't notice when I moved out of the way. Maybe I'll just go over and give her a little tap on the shoulder."

It takes effort to see this, but I think Sciona shot Sydney (and Mr. Bubbles) rather than hitting Maxima. Which counts as a VERY bad mistake.

Reminds me of an NFL game I watched where they had some of the players wired. One of the defensive guys nailed the crap out of the ball carrier. He leaned over him and asked "Did I hurt you, baby?" Yeah.... that pretty much sums up this scene.

I know Maxima can allocate all her power to Def, but I cant remember why should her clothes be ok. For some reason, men's clothes get shredded quite often and easily
