What I want to know, is why the Alari Empire doesn't have its Imperial logo carved into its moon to inspire loyalty/fear?

Town Crier

Yup. Around 80 hours or more to travel 240,000 miles at an estimated 3044 mph (4x speed of sound: 761 mph). The mach 4 was only an estimate of her speed.

Dean Lovett

I think I know what the last orb is: Medical. I doubt Sydney has considered self-injury in the course of testing, and they have a medical-super on staff at ArcSWAT so she wouldn't have much cause after joining.

If it's as far from the planet as Earth's moon is, she has about 97 hours to get there.

Mark Whipple

And don't forget your towel.

Eric Beauregard

Last orb is navigation then. It's very easy to get lost in space.

Grimfox

looks like a partially destroyed ship that was designed to look like a wedding ring.

It strikes me as unlikely the last orb is some sort of hyper drive. I get the feeling that some flight upgrade has the FTL.

Stefan J Neylon

Time for another orb.

Jeffrey Nonken

Also what is the UFO in panels 1 & 2 ?

Rob Wright

well it could be that the Moon is a Balloon?

That moon is fishy. It looks like a bowling ball or a face. Ship maybe?

PatronTurtle

Does she even realize that's not Earth's moon?

Stephen Gilberg

Maybe the unknown orb is FTL?

Stuart Grosse

Sydney forgot her Hitchhiker's: "Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space."

Andrew Diseker

Relativity, she's a bitch.

Michael Obert

Bottom center panel... Isn't that Mecha Cthulhu's transport / bar and grill? If so, Sidney, you may want to MOVE away from it...

Only for objects affected by gravity. Given that Sydney's hair didn't flips when she did her spinny-thing in the ballroom, it's safe to assume she could crawl out of orbit at 0.1mph

James C

Um, Sydney? Say it with me; "Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space."

Nicholas Perrett

There is also the problem of relative velocity. Even if Sydney is capable of accelerating to greater speeds once free of atmosphere and gravity well, she faces the problem of braking once she arrives and matching relative speed with the object she arrives to.

Simon Magid

well I might be wrong but escape speed of earth is 30+ mach

U.Kaya

Learning a valuable lesson! Speeds relevant in atmo << Speeds relevant astonomicly.

Alex H

Maybe less a spaceship and more a fighter craft?
