could be mental limitation. sydney is used to high speed curves, not linear redirects. also, don't energy states reflect inertia? mass is energy, energy is mass? her inertia-less flight must be affected somehow, or she wouldn't have a speed limit either. maybe the curves are the effective accel limit.

Iain Burgess

If it DID have fish before the start of the bombardment, this certainly ended them...

Hmmm, interesting. I was thinking Halo would be able to turn on a literal dime, since she has inertialess flight. However, it seems that even though Sydney has her own personal gravity field when she is flying, the bubble has inertia, which is strange since it is not physical. Or maybe the flight orb itself has momentum? Basically sucking the inertia that Sydney should feel into itself. But that makes no sense - Sydney would be able to turn instantly, but the orb wouldn't, which would result in them taking separate paths. This obviously would be detrimental, since the orb would be ripped out of her hand by inertial effects if that happened. So the orb masks her momentum with a personal gravity field, but she still suffers the inertial effects of moving which keep her from turning as quickly as she can think. Fascinating...

*wheeze* MOLOTOV COCKTEASE

fortunately, Sydney appears to be immune to momentum changes from her own flight/levitation.

Does the planet even have fish anymore?

He's probably just waiting until 2019 at this point. :) Comments on the main site indicate he uses several layout templates, and some that don't get used frequently just haven't received the date change yet.

...wow. I need to point out that Syd pulled enhanced *reflexes* out of a hat, because if her speed is high enough to leave a wake in the ocean from hundreds of feet in the air, she's broken the sound barrier several dozens of times over. And it's still nowhere near fast enough to get her to other planets - see the first What If xkcd, "Relativistic Baseball".

Nicholas Perrett

Good to see that Sydney has learned how to dodge explosions from Molotov Cocktease.

Watch out boys, she's crepuscular!

Dave, it's been bothering me for a while. It's waaaay into 2018, and you still give a footer with copyright notice and 2017. Is it intentional?

Sidney: The reason supers will get fined for speeding in the near future.

A little convenience request: Could you include the grrlpowercomic.com commentary text on your patreon posts, and/or the relevant permalink? (Here: http://grrlpowercomic.com/archives/2978). Your commentary is entertaining, as are the reader-comments, but navigating to it manually is a bit of a pain on mobile :)
