Oh she has dents in her nose from the nose pads of her glasses. That's a nice detail!

Hmm, looks like this dude has a prosthetic mandible and eyes. Interesting...

Hmm, It looks like she has taken off the backpack, which I was assuming contained all the power supply and neural linkages to keep her limbs running. So, are her limbs now self-supporting hard-light thingies? Self-projecting holograms? Nah.
Maybe on-board ship she has special projectors to keep the limbs active even without the back-pack link?
OK, Yeah, that works. I bet that's it.

I can't but help remember earlier in the comic that Dabbler was talking about liking guys with muscles and fur, and the look the look on Sydney's face.

This all strikes me as a situation where Sydney's impulsiveness combined with a lack of ADHD meds have landed her in a situation beyond her usual ability to properly process. If anyone from Archon were there, they'd have likely grabbed Syd by her collar and told her to find the showers, then explained things much more clearly and cleared it up. It would have just been yet another in a long line of hilariously embarrassing social mistakes from our intrepid heroine to be laughed at and generate days of teasing. Even Dabs would have likely teased her about it, but picked up on her extremely obvious nervousness/bordering on fear here. However, since Cora doesn't know Syd that well, she's not really detecting the true undertones of what is likely going on. At least that's what I'm getting from the current situation so far

It's probably safe to say that with a crew that travels the galaxy and probably has at least a Few captain kirk style encounters of the fun kind here and there, having contingencies and procedures for screening for and preventing the unintentional transfer of materials that would be harmful to the recepient, be that from crew to outsiders or from outsiders to the crew. For example we got shown that they did a full checkup on Halo in a prior page and a general screening for potential problems that might result from an exchange of snu-snu was high on their list of things to check considering her clear interest in at least one of the crew.

Where have I seen the comm-panel before?

As attractive as aliens can be, I'd still have reservations about jumping one, for the same reason as Scott Adams: We don't know enough about them. They may present unpleasant anatomical surprises, carry STDs for which we have no treatment, and/or have unexpected cultural taboos.
Of course, for GP purposes, we assume that none of those problems exist. They're close enough to human.

The first panel surprised me too. Guess I'm still not used to seeing Sydney without her glasses.

I love that last panel face. Very different style, and fitting.

Probably yes.
Who knows(Dave prolly) but it didn't feel long enough and Cora could report back that she found activity and she is following the lead. And not enough to report her as MIA
I would say it would be either Maxima or Arianna

Love the art and story (new reader), so really hate to be a possible Downer Dan. Questions: Cora did let Dabbler know she found Sydney and she's okay, right? How much time has/will have elapsed from the portal closing to ACRHON's learning Sydney's been recovered and had enough time passed that Sydney's family would have been advised that she was Missing In Action and if Maxima (as her commander) was the one who made the notification (which would truly be painful for ALL involved). Sorry, run on Question there.

I think she is happy, excited and scared in equal amounts!

Poor Sydney; didn't know what she was getting into. Cora's right, though, sometimes you gotta put up or shut up.
