It says something that Max is so starved for human contact she let's herself be picked up like this. 'Cuz we all know there is no way she would be there if she didn't allow it, off-duty or not. I really don't think she'll ever be comfortable dating a norm, anyway. What she really needs is to suggest to the general that a second unit be created, allowing quicker coverage of the US. Eventually, Hiro would be tapped to lead it. Then he would no longer be part of her chain of command, and she could legally find out if he would be interested in dating. Either that or revisit fraternization rules, in light of their special circumstances. Trouble is, the rules are there for a reason - so much can go wrong...

This is rather amusing no doubt. But every time I've seen this situation in real life it has ended horribly (hilariously but horribly). Just a general bad time for the person who didn't want to go out in the first place, and worse for guy in the other half of the blind date. Still should be fun to watch the awkwardness unfold XD

I think it was something with how Max's super strength works. I believe it was explained in the commentary on one of the early comics when she lifted an ambulance that Sydney was hiding under.

I do wonder how well a sofa must be assembled that it can get lifted by being grabbed this way instead of being torn. Definitely looks funny though :)
