So it seems obvious that someone has really studied every piece of footage with Sydney interacting with her orbs. Really, the game was given away in the bank parking lot. Well, most of the game. Mysteries still abound.

You know, after being instrumental in taking down Vehemence and wasting 1, probably 2 of those mega kaiju things on the Alari homeworld, Sydney is probably going to be a little bummed by being totally dominated by a non-boss villain. At least the last time she encountered Concretia, she wasn't a boss, though she seems to have upped her game at bit.

Did you really want Sidney to blow up the moon? Come on now. Seriously? Austin powers quote "Would you miss it??"

Doug Northcote

And now I picture it... Sydney throws Concretia into the sky and goes all out on her with hew pew-pew orb. Probably destroying her. DING! «Did I just receive a level up just for her?!» Somewhere in space: what was that shit that has just destroyed our entire moon?

Evgeny Sandu

ALWAYS TAKE A BATTLE BUDDY!!!

Jared Juetten

Sidney probably does not want Dabbler creating ANY form of strap-on . . . accessories . . . for the orbs.

09Klr650

Have to wonder what those are.

Marc Vun Kannon

Always a pleasant surprise. The best stories have smart heroes and smart villains.

Marc Vun Kannon

But, alas, not alliteration. *sigh*

Town Crier

BTW, WHERE IS HALO'S BUDDY?!?!! (caps on purpose, because I'm using my officer command voice)

Town Crier

Sidney needs to get some strappy “Phantasm” weapons for the balls. Drills, saws. Blowfish spikes. Dabbler can probably do something low profile enough to keep them accessible.

Jeremy

Sidney does have a way to call for help, still, if she remembers it. There have been changes that the rest of the world doesn't know about.

Dave - One of the things that I really like about your comic is that you allow your characters to fail. It’s a sign of great writing ability to have protagonists fail so that they can learn from it. You often (perhaps always) make those failures so entertaining that it seems completely natural. It’s so smooth that it’s not even a noticeable point unless the reader has other stories where that’s more of a problem. Which is why I chose now to point it out. This page was excellently done from a writing perspective. It also shows that villains are not stupid, which is nice.

JBomb110

There is one unknown orb at present. I note with interest that Concretia is not injuring Sydney, just restraining her.

Michael Altarriba

That would be the logical reaction :) And probably some gag about her forgetting the part, where her shield is air-tight, until someone points it out.

Klaus

Oh, game changer there.

Daniel Schinhofen

Nothing here looks out of character for Sydney.

Stephen Gilberg

Perhaps this is when she finds out she can activate an orb without touching it

Reigys

Well, Sid really hasn’t put enough thought into her whole “glass cannon” status, so maybe this’ll prompt her to be a bit more careful next time. (Who am I kidding, she’s just gonna start spending every second with the shield up.)

Joseph

Not a fan of beloved characters made to look absolutely incompetent.

L Pedersen

Hmm. As I recall, there are one or two unexplained lights on Sydney's Orb Wheel Of Experience. Maybe we'll get to see what other tricks the orbs have.

Proper Planning and Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance

Jacob Mitchell

Figure she's still got the wrist computer under her sleeve for them to track.

Kizik Ucalegon

Better hope its because they think she's one of the supers, and not because they've identified her space wizard artifacts.

akrasia

So she puts her in a chair, at the exact limit of her ability to move. Somebody wants Sydney captured real bad.

Marc Vun Kannon

Sydney climbs over the back of the chair...

Justaguy

Concretia has gotten sneaky, or someone is pulling her strings.

Stan

And I'm putting money on someone noticing Sydney's choker go offline and going to her last known location
