Forgot if I commented. Probably didn't, inveterate lurker. Love all of these pictures, the shirt half up one is probably the best as far as the character in it. Yes, naked is there, and good, but she's so much more than her physicality (no I'm not above it but seriously people, the creep factor, maybe chuck it out the window for a minute). Addressing the "uncanny valley" stuff people are talking about. I think these critics forget her reaction to seeing Frix the first time... her face when she saw the room of tentacles... how she enabled the Vehemence takedown... when she got blue steel from a werewolf... facts are facts, she was spawned from the river banks in uncanny valley with a side order of mad geek syndrome, and that's why everyone loves her! Whether they know it or not. That being said the embarrassment rictus fits well for me. I was compelled to join for the Syd because I have a fictional crush, but with all the cheesecake around I figure it's a good investment.

I found that Sydney's mouth on this one was over scaled, even with as big a mouth as she has in the comic. The pin-up looked so much sexier when I put my finger over that inhumanly large grin.

So how was Sydney shooting the pix? I don't see a selfie stick -- Timelapse setting on her phone and tape it to one of the orbs, I'm guessing, then edit out any intermediate shots where she's moving around. Easier (for her) than taping it to the ceiling or levitating a mirror...

It is a little uncanny-valley-ish, and I was trying to pinpoint exactly why... Part of it might be the stylistic difference between Sydney's face vs paintover, but I think the biggest thing is that Sydney's face and head are just *slightly* too big in proportion to her body. In your comic style it works. On the more realistic paintover it enters uncanny valley. My two cents, in case you were actually interested in the art critique from a stranger opinion. Love it though, thanks for all your hard work!

Not going to lie that grin is something else but heck I swear I've seen that look before. Very Nice seeing a human with more realistic proportions. Willing to support cheese cake for a small cup of coffee. One thing though she has Pseudo tentacle that she can control well enough to write with ... now maybe its too much for Halo to be sending any H but she could at least wrap herself up with a bow. Heck could completely cover up and still be very sexy. Feel like making an edit of the 4th image. Just swap the orbs and add some light effects.

i concur with others above, that Syd's nervous rictus is fitting; she's not a brazen girl, so she's pushing herself out of her comfort zone here. my one nitpick, though... she actually seems a tad, well, busty for what the banter has lead me to expect (i.e. Peggy's "A-Team" jibe). but, upon further research, i'm gonna put that down to the pose/viewing angle. after studying a few different shots of confirmed A cups in similar poses, i'm going to assume my complaint comes down to expecting bad anatomy from my artists >.>

These are awesome, smile included! My head canon is that she spent a lot of time psyching herself before taking these pics, and was so worried about putting on a "sexy smile" for Frix that she spent too long "perfecting" it in the mirror and forgot what a normal smile looks like. So in that sense it's 100% on point for Sydney's character! But if you're still not pleased with her smile then there's a simple solution that doesn't involve tweaking these drawings: just try again by DRAWING MORE SYDNEY PINUPS :D

I've noticed people say they don't care for muscles on pin-ups but for me it's been the opposite issue with superhero physiques. Gag-boob level proportions. Personally I find muscle tone quite sexxy on a woman or a man but over-exaggerated anything tends to breech the uncanny valley. (Especially in these high-res images as compared to the more cartoony regular style.) I also concur about having the more petite characters such as Krona would be nice. As for Pixel, I feel like an Animorphs book cover style image may be nice? Also when are we getting male pin-ups? Never?

She's holding the com-ball. Now, if she was also holding the fly-ball, I'd assume she was floating in the air, looking down, and we're looking at her projection. Since she ISN'T, that implies that the comm-ball projection is 'complete' enough that her glasses are able to 'see' from the light-bee's perspective too...

I think you did fairly well with her body type. And as for thinking she 'looks' to young...........just look up the JAV actresses Mimi Yazawa and Kurumi Kawashima. You can find some of the works they are featured in over at www.r18.com, and remember they're both around 20 years old. Also, I have personally ran into women with similar body types in stores before, only twice mind you, but they do exist out there.

No, those lines on her stomach are like, the little creases people pick up where their skin naturally folds over when they slouch or whatever. I may have made them a tad dark compared to the rest of the artwork. It was supposed to have a kind of sketchy line quality framing most of it, but I was a little inconsistent with it.

I will echo that the only drawback to this picture is the mouth is too large, at best it's a big fake smile, which she shouldn't be doing on a picture to a lover, and at worst it is just *wrong*. I don't normally recommend redoing a picture, but I might suggest changing her smile to a much smaller shy smile with closed lips, or barely any teeth, which I think would be far more appropriate and in character for this. The small breasts instead of silicon balloons are wonderful, as is the public hair that shows she is clearly an adult woman instead of a child or a doll. Definitely drawing Sydney as shaved would have been very wrong and disturbing. Sydney's physical allure is that she is *cute*, and that makes her more like a girl any of us could attain (well, not me, I'm way too old for her), unlike the super models of the rest of the cast which beyond being unrealistic are beyond the league of any normal human being that doesn't have a pile of money or equally inhuman perfection. tl/dr: Other than the too big smile, she looks fantastic

I like the image, it's quality stuff. That said, I do think that if there's an uncanny valley issue, it's because of the mouth. It feels just a little too wide to be natural and kinda throws off the sense of proportion. Though I think that might also have something to do with the airbrushed style of coloring and shading. On their own they probably don't stand out, but together they have a very plastic-y kind of quality that can seem disproportionate. It's still quality work, but that might be where your sense of unease is coming from.

(#706) Which might make for an amazing incentive later. ;) One small nitpic- some of the panty linework can be seen in the full nude, and the left inner thigh's color stops before the line.
