Grrl Power #1065 - Knife to meet you!

Thank you for the support! You guys are awesome!

Hey, +50XP for Arianna.

Tactically, this is a poor reaction. But the dude did try and burn her into ash, so... it's hard to really blame her. She's not a soldier, even if she goes jogging with them in the mornings. That said, her aim was pretty on point. She went for center mass, but the guy managed to spin out of the way. Also, he is wearing some fairly serious looking body armor, so she should have aimed at his face. She's just not ready to stalk the streets at night, dispensing justice from the shadows.

By the way, Varia is still holding onto her leg below the frame there, which is why Arianna can hold on to the glowing embers of the doorframe without losing her skin.

As far as the flashbang guy in the background, we don't know how well equipped the fodder soldiers are, but it's a safe bet that any helmet that is "flashbang resistant" is less effective if said flashbang goes off six inches from your foot than from ten feet away. Mostly though, the guy is regretting not strapping on his back of the knee armor.

Unless you're Henry VIII, who's armour was so good NASA used it as a guide for designing EVA suits. Ol' Henry insisted on genuinely continuing to fight in tournaments, both jousting and food combat, so his armourers literally invented new ways 9f protecting even the insides of joints while still providing full mobility. His armour is AMAZING. Of course in the end it still didn't help, because he took a foot-long splinter of wood through the eyeslit of his helm while jousting that only barely missed his eye socket. It's reported he was in a coma for at least three days afterward, and he was never the same again. He lost a great deal of personal vitality, his behaviour became ever more paranoid and erratic, and he became more and more violently unstable. Many modern commenters feel he likely received frontal lobe brain damage from the impact.

yeah, the inside angle of joints is particularly hard to armor, especially without seriously hindering movement. armpits are another *really* hard to armor strike zone (with very serious consequences for being hit), but at least those are usually protected by the joint being closed (unlike knees). the front side of ankles is another good one, and often overlooked.

I now pronounce you Man, and Knife. You may bleed on the floor. Problem with armour is that it can't be perfect, or you won't be able to move. Even power armour would have vulnerabilities at the joints. Most armour is not going to be designed to stop a knife hitting the inside of the knee as it isn't supposed to be facing the enemy, and a difficult target for the most part.

Seems Arianna is familiar with a blade?!
