I think Lee Wan was confused and on defense and upset at first because he thought Shin Gi Tae didn't like him back then and was probably mad at him or hated him for the whole kiss thing. Being gay in Korea is...hard. Korea may be advanced in some areas but LGBTQ+ rights and acceptance is still VERY lacking since Korea is an extremely conservative country. So this dude who he confessed to, but got rejected by (in his mind), finding him and being probably more "rude" to him than he was in high school gave him the feeling that he's trying to "get revenge" on him for kissing him in some way or for having feelings for him. Just how I saw things when I watched this show. Of course Lee Wan has many flaws and runs at the first sign of trouble but that's how we get to see his character growth~

Honestly a very important thing for me was that i didn't feel any second hand embarrassment from it lmao because it happens quite often unfortunately. Im really excited for you to watch the rest of it, the later episodes are even better than the beginning imo.
