Do you like the more sketchy style?

I also favor in clean lines too. However, you're sketch style is honestly good even though a bit messy because I can picture in my head how it would turn out when it gets drawn in clean later. But as some would say, "do what you find most productive and fun". Whatever works out for you the most would be a benefit to you.
