Mav you are the best. I had also determined ahead of time that the market would gap to 4800ish overnight then rally 5-10% before closing neutral. So i audibly winced when I saw the title of this video (that sealed it).

The Stock Market is an All You Can Eat buffet for cannibals.
Another YouTube i watched recently made the analysis that this tariff trade war may have originally been designed to stop China getting around tariffs by arbitrage trade through other countries...but it's backfiring

I've got plenty to say...but I'll keep it short and sweet...while shopping for the perfect pepper soil, the older lady working for Lowe's lost $3,000 in her retirement...and while I shouldn't prejudge, she didn't look like she could afford to lose $3,000. I also announced that I drove a couple of extra miles to shop at a NC corporation...such a feeble attempt to make a difference....I'll never lose the vision of the men and women preaching "maximum pain"...at least I know the sleep very well at night. My TLT is doing great...and I got out of other stocks...I listen to your advice....while learning.

Comparison to 1987 is a bit of a stretch. The market freaked out about the trade deficit and the depreciating dollar due to the Plaza Accord signed in 1985.
