New Theme Poll
Added 2024-06-06 14:00:07 +0000 UTCHi everyone,
We are reaching the end of our Seeds of Corruption theme, and so it is time to decide, what thematic waters we shall delve into this time.
We have decided to include some more experimental themes that don't follow our regular formula, but that we think are worth pursuing nonetheless; the themes are as follows:
Wondrous Tools:
Tool proficiencies in 5e are an amazing idea, but they are quite underutilized. In this theme we would like to create a set of magical tools that would change that. each would require a specific skill to be used to its full potential, be it a special keg that serves as brewer's supplies and can make magical alcohol, or a needle that allows you to make telekinetically moveable cloth, the possibilities are many.
An expansion of the Tool subsystem in 5e is something I've wanted to do for a long time, this would be a small taste of few ideas I have for it, but it wouldn't surprise me if this were to become part of a larger project in the future.
Magical Materials:
This theme would be focused on various materials that can be found in the Rudok's Tavern world of Ludur-Dyuta and items that can be made from them. It would include lore details of each material, including its appearance, usage, ways of extraction and more. For some materials it might also come with small guides and advices on how to create your own basic homebrew items using that material.
Harbingers of the Apocalypse:
Pestilence, War, Famine and Death. These concepts alone are scary to many, but become truly terrifying when they manifest into beings the entire purpose of whose is to spread them.
The Harbingers of the Apocalypse appear in times of change or great strife. When the dice of fate are rolled, the demonic lords try to find mortal champions into whom they impart their great powers, turning them into vanguards meant to spread their demonic domains in the material world. If they were to succeed, the barrier between mortal plane and hell would break, and a tide of blood would wash over the realm.
This theme is most like our usual ones, with monsters and items aplenty that surround some thematic part of our world Ludur-Dyuta.
Planetary Artefacts:
This would be something of a continuation of our Zodiac theme and would be made in the same style. Instead of focusing on constellations and the greek and roman myths behind them however, we would be focusing on the planets of our Solar System, the simularcra of which have found their way into the fantasy realm of Ludur-Dyuta as well.
So this theme would bring you 8 (or 9...) items, each associated with one celestial body.
