I'm thinking of you.
Things have been a little bit crazy this week with all the news, cancelation and shut down of many public services and spaces, schools etc. Everyone I know is taking it completely differently. I have a friend who despite everything left for Cuba today. I have friends who are sitting back and just watching everything unfold. I have friends who are completely MIA. And I just got back from my therapists office, I was dropping off my ring light because she feels the need to make videos with grounding work to send out to all her patients because she's such a huge influx of calls/requests for additional appointments/new patient requests.
Lizzo did an Instagram live the other day with healing sounds and prayer which I thought was so amazing because while everyone is in some state of panic she's trying to remind everyone to fall back, breathe, relax and return to your self care if you need.
Which made me think of Story Time - to a lot of people this idea is insanely silly. Some naked girl on the internet reading children's books to adults. But you know what, it makes sense to me. How often are you really able to let go to the point where you center yourself back into your inner child enough to no longer feel your everyday stressors. This is SUPER hard for most people, I practice is often because I'm a little and I never feel better than when I'm in that space. Cause adulting fucking sucks!
So, to promote that I'm bringing it back. I was just at the store today and found some great books by one of my fav children's authors Robert Munch on sale and picked up "Sloth Sees The World" because nothing is better than a sloth seeing the world!
I hope that when I upload these videos that you take time out of your day to fully disconnect. To turn off notifications on your phone for EVERYTHING. No news, no texts, no calls, no notifications from your apps. And just sit down or lay down play the story and really try to let go of your adult self, all your stress, all your worry and simply hear the story. Be completely focused and buy into just hearing a cute little story.
We need that. We need that time away from worry and news. We need time away from seeing how everyone else is acting because it can be worrisome.
I sincerely hope that these upcoming videos help you even in the smallest way.
Love Faye
