For times like this (and all times in general) we need more kindness, we need more understanding. We need to read/watch/take in things that allow us to process our emotions and even things that tell us how to do that.
I've been watching a movie every single day lately and doing my stitching.
Yesterday I watched Queen & Slim - which was great, there were so many parts that I really loved about it however, I wouldn't really recommend watching it now because it just brings to light how messed up the world is in other ways.
Today I watched A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood with Tom Hanks. And I balled my little eyes out multiple times through the movie. Unlike most other people I don't pay attention to a lot of trailers, I don't read reviews about things or articles beforehand because I like to be surprised and I want things to say what they need to say to me within the moment without other people's opinions flooding in. So going in, I kinda thought this would be a documentary style type film about Mr.Rogers. It is not, it's a story that involves Mr.Rogers and how he helps a grown man in the same way that he's able to help children through his program.
I sincerely loved this movie. I would highly recommend watching it right now. It's very heartfelt and I think it brings to light the way that so many of us live.....and how we should change to have a much better quality of life.
5 stars from Faye.
