That’s 100% right — originally the scene in Reena’s apartment wasn’t intended for the beginning of Horror High. My initial plan was to start the chapter with Reena/Madison’s limo pulling up at Sumter Academy and have the apartment sequence occur as a flashback later on. But, in the end, I felt seeing Reena at her apartment and interacting with her little brother helped "set the stage" better — plus we immediately get to see her doubts/concerns regarding the Sumter case.
