I really love this episode for a lot of reasons so I’m so glad you enjoyed it so much. To me it really showcases what difference a mentor can make. Just how much quickly someone can evolve when in the presence of someone who has more experience. It’s clear with Hinata and Gramps Ukai because while Coach Ukai knows volleyball, he’s still relatively new to coaching. But then with Coach Ukai and Kageyama, it’s a bit more subtle because while Kageyama has the skill, he lacks the experience and luckily for him Coach Ukai’s setter experience can come into play big time. Sorry to ramble. So yeah, notes: for the whole libero toss, think of it like this, each side of the court is separated into two halves. That’s where the whole front row/back row terminology comes from. Liberos are restricted from playing in the front row. It’s one of the many special rules they have to follow because they are a specialized position. The way around that though is for them to do the toss in the air since as long as their feet haven’t landed in the front half, it’s counted as if the toss came from the back half. A very useful tactic to have if for some reason the regular setter is unable to set. Hope that helps!

ppl explained a bit already but hinata and kageyama's quick is pretty much the only thing in the show that isn't possible in real life for even the best in the world to do consistently (hence everyone being so shocked by it and calling it the freak quick). So even though it can be blocked, it's still a super powerful tool to have at any level of volleyball. And one of the main reasons it works is because hinata closes his eyes. This makes it easier for kageyama to do a perfect set because hinata swings consistently without trying to sync with the ball himself. From the perspective of the coach/other players, hinata is still inexperienced and the ball is moving too fast for even the best spikers to hit it while deciding where to aim. So that's why everyone thinks hinata should focus on serving and receiving which he still sucks at instead of trying to improve something that is already a miracle in the first place. hope this clears some confusion if you still had any :)
