Just to be clear since I was a bit frustrated in my reaction lol I do understand why Canute had to kill Askeladd at that moment. Askeladd’s actions sealed his own fate and Canute secured the trust of those men and now has the support/acceptance to become the next King.
Now it's time for season 2!!! 🔥

2024-06-06 15:42:34 +0000 UTCi think it was a pretty cool way to go out. chops off the kings head after he disrespected his people. instead of waiting for artorius to come, he became him himself and saved wales. while also allowing canute to become king. he didn't care much for living as a viking anyway since he hates them, so he took his opportunity to get what he actually cares about. also the scene with him and thorfinn at the end is something we wouldnt get otherwise. but yeah i understand your frustration with it

Not necessarily because I thought it was a bad death... it was an amazing way for him to go and Thorfinn dropping his dagger is also very important (we find out more in S2) I was more so disappointed because he was my favourite character and I didn't know if the show would be able to carry on being great without him. But boy was I wrong... personally I enjoyed S2 more than S1. Also I feel like this was the first time we've heard you curse lmao you really were frustrated😂
