OUR KING IS BACK!!! | Haikyuu!! Season 4 Episode 7 Extended Reaction

Wow the fact that we are seeing this version of Kageyama again actually shocked me. Thank goodness for Hinata lightening the mood. Haikyuu just proves to be such a relatable show in the sense of when I thought a character had it figured out there is still so much more growth they must go through. I still believe Kageyama will take Oikawaโ€™s advice to heart and apply that to his sets but also find a more โ€œtrueโ€ calling within himself to help his teammates reach even higher levels of potential along with himself ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”ฅ

What happened with Oikawa's advice was, Kageyama took it too literally. You see during season one and two that Oikawa wasn't only accommodating to his spikers, he actively pushed them further with having Kindaichi jump higher than he was and having Kunimi work harder than he was used to, as well as pushing Mad Dog to be at his %100. However because Kageyama is so scarred from his past in junior high, he took what he said too literally to avoid conflict and that's not what Oikawa meant fully. Accommodating spikers is one aspect, but pushing them is another that Oikawa does well but that's because he communicates well, he has people skills that Kageyama lacks. Which is where the goody two shoes comment by Atsumu came in, and Kageyama realized in this episode he could be a goody two shoes in attitude with this team because they accept him no matter what but he will also push them by communicating properly, or trying to.

Just to address the animation. This season it will be quite inconsistent. Especially as we get further in. Itโ€™s a bit unfortunate and while I had heard that itโ€™s production being so close to COVID led to the fluctuations in quality, all in all the story is still as solid as it ever was and hereโ€™s hoping it wonโ€™t be too distracting for you.
