I’m really curious to see Thorfinn’s strategy to be able to take a blow in a safe manner, I mean we are talking about 100 hits here 😬 but our guy has it!!! 💪🏼

Olmar is a parallel to Ketil. Similar to ketil, they are both a coward. Ketil didn't want to be seen as weak, so he punish the kids even though he has empathy towards them. The author want to say that kindness need courage and strength. Ketil only kind when it is easy, which is like most of us. When it is inconvenient, he wouldn't act on it When it is crucial for him to have a strong heart, unfortunately he mistakenly express his strength/courage physically towards Arnheid, disregarding all of his empathy. He never practice to be kind when it is inconvenient, and disaster happen when it is crucial to have those strength. In this expisode, contrary to Ketil, Olmar choose to side with his empatathic side, disregarding whether he would be mocked as a weak Norse man. The author want to say that is the true strength and courage.

2024-08-09 10:17:30 +0000 UTCI really appreciate this! It’s easy for me to just say that Thorfinn is “wasting his time” only because of how I perceived Canute’s growth from what they have shown me. I see him as a man on a mission and that he is not going to let anyone get in the way of that. Plus Canute's fate will always include violence as he is a King and will either want to expand his region or defend his own from others. I’d love to see their conversation but I don’t trust Canute with Thorfinn lol I’m all for going for what you care about but Thorfinn and Snake’s view on defending the farm took me a back or “strange” as I put it because I couldn’t see myself making that same decision. I respect Thorfinn because he is being selfless and has now dedicated his life to something so much more greater than what the average person would consider. He is helping me grow as a person. It’s always great to read comments expressing how I either misunderstood something or hearing a different perspective on the shows I react to!

Also, I gotta say that I'm really starting to enjoy your reactions more because they're helping me grow as a person. Yours' and my opinions/the way we view things tend to differ a lot, and it's helping me to understand and accept people's different perspectives of life. Like for example, "You say that you respect what Thorfinn is doing but you feel like he is wasting his time." My initial knee-jerk reaction is asking something like, "How exactly is he wasting his time?" Is it EVER wasting your time trying to save something you care about? But when I take a step back I find myself instead wanting to ask, "What is it that causes you to think this way?" Because it would never cross my mind to call what Thorfinn is doing, "a waste of time".
