First, thank you so so very much for taking the time to share this information! Okay cool, I appreciate the clarification on the cursed techniques. Excited to see if we see more of Yuta in the second season I have only reacted to the first episode as of right now 🤭 Curse user = criminal activity, noted! Gotcha! I watched a recap of the movie prior to starting season 2 and it did share that Gojo killed Geto but obviously we see him in season 1 so you’re right mysterious indeed. Thank you for no spoilers!!! I can already see myself coming back to this when I question myself again lol

Just know that it's practically impossible to fully get the Jujutsu lore and cursed energy on the first watch-through. You are far from alone! Most fans of this series have watched it multiple times to understand it. Not because it's too complicated, but because of the round-about way the anime explains the concepts. Now here's some spoiler-free answers to some of your questions during this movie: Cursed techniques are something sorcerers are born with - they can be hereditary or unique to themselves. Inumaki has cursed speech for his technique, and Megumi from season 1 has the ten shadows technique where he can summon animals from shadows. Some sorcerers don't have these innate techniques at all, like Yuji and Miwa (blue haired girl), but they can still use cursed energy to enhance their fighting abilities and weapons. Maki is different though - she was said in season 1 to have a "heavenly restriction", which means she was born with a cursed energy-related pact affecting her body. In her case, she has heightened physical senses, strength, speed, etc in exchange for having a lack of cursed energy. You were correct that Yuta didn't show up in season 1, but he was mentioned a few times and has a cameo in the 2nd opening. According to the students in season 1, he's out on a mission overseas. Gojo, Maki, Inumaki and Panda are all drawn using their designs from the Chapter 0 manga, which is why they look a little different. It was drawn before the JJK manga started. It's unknown if Gojo could have exorcised the curse from Yuta himself, but I think he probably could have - and instead wanted to give Yuta a chance to use it for good so he could find a purpose in his life to make up for the harm he's accidentally caused in the past with Rika. Gojo also seems to have an interest in building up sorcerers that share his ideals, counter to the "higher-ups" of Jujutsu society that he's at odds with. Rika is classified as a special grade cursed spirit, which before season 1 are exceedingly rare, but all special grades vary drastically in strength (but all stronger than grade 1). Rika is much more powerful than any special grade curse Geto has enslaved so far and would make his "goal" of an all-sorcerer society much easier to accomplish. Geto is a "curse user", which is a label given by Jujutsu society to any sorcerer that is actively out using cursed techniques for criminal activity and not affiliated with the schools. Jujutsu high is an acting operations base for sorcerers beyond being just a school. Curse users are generally living under an active death sentence from Jujutsu society. We saw Yuta use Inumaki's technique with a megaphone that had the same symbol that Inumaki has on his mouth/tongue. This is meant to be confusing (probably) since it's the first time we see a sorcerer using someone else's innate technique. Geto implies that people can do that after extensive training, but perhaps it requires those marks to be on the megaphone. I can't say more about this due to spoilers though :D Gojo's eyes - again, spoilers xD Geto has over 4000 curses absorbed and at his disposal, but most of them are throw-away weak curses. Todo is the only grade 1 student that we've been introduced to thusfar (Yuta is a special grade though!), and a few other students are in the promotion process. Gojo is presumed to have killed Geto at the end of this movie (the slash sound). Obviously this is questionable since we see the same character in season 1 with the stitching on his forehead, but he is careful throughout season 1 to not be spotted by any sorcerers. His goal also seems to be much different in season 1. Mysterious! Yuta is revealed to be the descendant of Sugawara Michizane, some strong ancient sorcerer who's name you dont need to remember (probably). Gojo is also descended from this figure so this is supposed to "explain" why Yuta could be strong enough of a natural sorcerer to create a curse like Rika just with his will to not let her die. However Yuta is not considered part of the Gojo clan. The end-credit scene: ??? :D (it was put there to appease manga readers, really). Happy to answer any questions, thank you Yay!
