2023-12-01 17:15:22 +0000 UTCSome beautiful parts about this episode is that Meruem, after his rebirth (which symbolizes a lot for his character), is able to share his name/identity with Komugi. His last wish being for her to repeat his name, the thing that makes him human, is so sad and speaks volumes on his growth. Also the final moments are kind of an inverse of what they experienced together up until that point. Meruem is losing his sight and cannot see Komugi, and Komugi is finally able to see Meruem by touching his hand and face.

Also, they would have the nerve to put the jarring, happy "next time on" music right after that scene lol. This episode still hits the emotions hard a few rewatches later, and I have a lot of unresolved/confusing feelings about the King and his end.
