I think I might know the feeling of being unappreciated.

The Alpha is most likely Jaspers dad, so that's gotta sting a ton.

I feel there’s more to it than just “pride.” How he called the human food “corrupted” and “cursed” signifies something more fundamental. The Alpha is sapient enough to recognize what sapient humans did before TAITF. The Alpha’s belief is that anything tangible item that resembles “human-like” is ultimately vice and unorthodoxy. And what does the Alpha have against human-items? They are the antithesis to nature (possibly referring to the natural order of life). Look into the linguistics. “The bygone modern world is completely against our nature.” The Alpha seems to have knowledge about the pre-history of TAITF, concerning the machinations of humanity, and, in a sense, blames humankind for creating all this grim mess. It’ almost how the stone-age tribes of humans in Horizon: Zero Dawn view the Old Ones (modern humans) more cynically and shun their remnants, even when it could help them fight a greater evil (HADES). The resemblances are identical in their own rights. So yes, the Alpha chooses to trash the human food rather than feed a potentially starving pack. Not because of mere pride, but something more fundamental and even evolutional.
This was a lot to take him, but I do enjoy these critical-thinking conversations. Plus, I also wrote an essay connecting humanity to everything that’s occurring in the TAITF world in the forms of nuclear winter (direct result of human actions), uplifting and evolution (indirect result of human error).

As long as they don’t actually hurt Jasper I guess they can live, but if they do. None shall escape!!!

That was cruel and a waste of good food. That alpha has issues. I want to be there to support Jasper.

Never too extreme. Mainly because knowing Jasper he’s probably going to go back there for comfort and the pack is going to do something awful to him because the alpha says so and then we’ll all be sad, wishing Jasper had his revenge. But instead he’ll be a hurt pup.

killing the whole pack is excessive ... only the alpha seemed to have a problem

Screw you Alpha! You are an idiot. In times of scarce one must adapt in order to survive. If he throws away that food, he will be forcing the pack to starve for no reason. It's fine to have pride, but only if it's real. Like feeling proud that you have helped your friends and family or in Jasper's case, feeling pride in finding something your good at and using it to do good. What he has isn't pride, it's stubbornness and it will doom the pact if they refuse to change with the evolving times. I love wolves and I don't want them to get left behind because their Alpha is an imbecile.
