Important announcement
Added 2021-12-16 05:26:24 +0000 UTCI was hearing that some of you are a little confused about what is happening with my art
So … I … was being scared to talk about this
I don't want to disappoint anyone
I am not ending yet Montimer and
Larry's history, but I don't want to give them
more problems
I want instead give some space to other characters
I have hopes that everyone will connect with the
new characters and ideas I have in mind like
before, as it's still coming from the same heart like the angel in the forest in 2018
I really don't want to disappoint anyone either and want to draw what people want and will love too.
So
If you want to know more about what is coming …
After Montimer and Larry got married and made the decision to move on from the forest in search of a new chapter in their life free from strife, they have come across a human city, once occupied by humans in the past, they find it's now bustling with animal life instead.
However, once Montimer and Larry arrive in the city, Larry is surprised to find that one of his own kind, a mouse from his colony, is already living in the city too.
This mouse, Marcus was born in the burrows just like Larry, but he instead moved on from burrow life to city life instead. While Larry is new to the city, Marcus has been living there for a long time as a doctor
While this may be the end of Montimer and Larry's life in the forest, it wont be the end of their history.
Comments
Sounds very interesting idea, I like it! Maybe Larry and Montu should become a little bit like side characters. So we could see them from time to time how are they doing but the main focus is on Marcus and his life? Just thinking out loud.

2022-03-08 20:02:41 +0000 UTCThere's nothing wrong with filling out your setting with new characters and offering alternate viewpoints. That sort of thing makes the setting more vibrant, dynamic, and alive. If Montimer and Larry need to have a break so you can return to their story later with new vigor, so be it. I would much rather see the artist not feel pressured into certain products just to make their audience happy. Then the art becomes a chore, and suffers for it.

2021-12-18 18:46:39 +0000 UTCI don't understand what you are talking about. Every comments are supportive, even the ones that don't 100% agree with this decision. People can have an opinion and it is not a dick move if they prefer to stop being a patron because they don't like the story anymore. Some people have limited ammount of cash and they have the right to withdraw if they don't like the story anymore or are interested in another creator for now. Please reconsider what you are saying. You shouldn't judge people for having opinions if they are supportive and done in respect.

2021-12-17 13:21:54 +0000 UTCOkay... Mixed bag from me on this one. But first and foremost I will say that artists burn out a LOT faster if they are working on something that they don't enjoy. So don't go down a road you're not happy to go down, because that's not fair on you and will totally devalue your talent. This is all personal feelings but to begin with there was just too much in the AitF that feels very unresolved for me and I can't say I'm really happy to be leaving Larry and Monti behind as secondary characters. I'd like to see some closure at points and not more sudden advancements. I feel that there is a lot of well, thrown away characters, plot lines and harsh events that seemed to serve little purpose. Myself, I want to see them get roads they deserve, even if its into the unknown. Vincent and Jasper have totally captured my heart though. I want to know so much more about them and see them grow and well... I've been vocal about Vincent's past and story parts I vehemently disagree with, but the story going forward is great and I hope it keeps rolling. The idea of moving to a new place isn't a bad one! I like the new ideas and I'm kinda torn on whether or not Larry and Monti should be involved. I think I'll end up liking it either way you go. I've mostly enjoyed the way things have been going, there's just been parts where instead of making me want more, it's made me want to stop. To sum it all up. The ideas, the directions, they're all really good sounding ones. But the journey here started with Larry and Monti. I feel they deserve closure as do their other friends along the way, then something new with your other characters who I feel eager to get to know.

2021-12-17 12:20:32 +0000 UTCAfter thinking for a bit these are my thoughts on the comic direction you have shared. Personally, I dislike the idea of leaving Monti and Larry to the side to focus on a new duo, because I’ve grown so attached to them, I just don’t want to see their story end. But I know it isn’t really the end for them but rather a break, so to say, to let them live happily without any major conflict. Then, on the other hand, I do think focusing on new people can be fun and exciting, as we can see a whole new dynamic story be told. However, I do hope later on we can return to Larry and Monti, maybe after a time jump when Ronni and Richie are older and we can see the new dynamic that results from the jump, or whatever new thing is happening around them besides the kids being grown up. Most importantly I want to say that ill keep supporting you no matter what you choose. I’m here for you, your art, and all the stories you want to share, not just our favorite mouse and bat pair.

2021-12-17 02:26:19 +0000 UTCI know you have an income to consider with this, and listening to feedback to some degree can be important, but a tweet I recently saw from a VN writer here on Patreon comes to mind. It read: "Q: What's the most important writing advice you can give? A: Do what you love and eventually you'll stumble on kindred spirits. Never pay any mind to those who don't share your passion... you don't create for them. You create for yourself and those who want to enjoy it. ❤️"

2021-12-16 18:08:41 +0000 UTCThis has lots of potential and I’m glad that plenty of people are pitching ideas to help you. If I may, I would personally like to see more of Larry and Monti's friends and family that are choosing to travel with them. I feel like there’s so much you could do with them and so much that could come out about their characters. Like how is Debbie going to adapt being a squirrel surrounded by bats? Can Oliver overcome his trauma and realized he is loved? How will Lucas get past his bad rep as a serial arsonist? Hell, you could maybe even do a story of Ron and Richie meeting other kids and struggling to connect with them because of their unusual upbringing. Lots of stuff here, but I just really hope these characters don’t get sidelined as well.

2021-12-16 15:08:33 +0000 UTCAs much as I'll miss having Larry and Monti being the main focus of the story, you can only do so much with characters that have already had their fair share of struggles in a single extensive story. I'm actually curious and excited to see new characters going through new experiences. Lots of opportunity to explore with the incoming cast. For sure, I'll definitely continue to support you. The way you create narratives and draw cute characters is still something I'm a fan of.

2021-12-16 12:20:37 +0000 UTCI love the idea of the family going to a (formerly) human city and exploring that. Though I would be a bit sad to hear that Larry and Monti and the kids might become more background characters to make way for others. I'd still like to see what the family we've come to know and love is doing and how they grow and stuff. Hopefully we'd still get to see them a bunch. I know there are some other storyline arcs out there as well, like the whole Jack/Maurice thing with the bat colony.

2021-12-16 08:30:48 +0000 UTCBefore I tell you my opinion, I want to make it perfectly clear I support whatever decision you make. Your art and stories are amazing and there's no way you can disappoint me. I am sad that Larry and monti are taking a back seat though. I felt like the point of the angel in the forest was the unique and unlikely bond between a mouse and a bat, and I'm definately going to miss that. I also think it's alittle abrupt... It seems this arc ended half way through the story... There wasn't really a "happy" ending- they did get married but then they were about to set sail and there were conversations about stuff and we still don't know how life went after that. I think it might be nice to have a few little panels to officially end out this story arc. I definately would also love to see more bats, or just any kind of predator in a relationship with prey, cause that made the story incredibly unique. I want to make sure you know that all of these are just my thoughts, and they should be taken with a grain of salt, because my opinion shouldn't get in the way of what you want to do yinller. I will support you regardless of what you create.

2021-12-16 05:36:50 +0000 UTCI am excited!! I have been a little bit curious, about where things are headed, and what exactly is going on (just hoping that the story as a whole doesn't end) but I personally just can't wait to see whatever comes next! I know it's probably got to be a bit stressful, worrying about not disappointing people, but it is your creation, and we are all here for your creations! so just do what feels right, and trust yourself... even if you wanted to start a whole new comic, that would be fine, it's your art, and your story, and we love it! (I have trouble with communication so I hope my message is clear enough) edit: while I was trying to figure out how to type that it went from zero Commons to seven heheh

2021-12-16 05:32:01 +0000 UTCWow yinller, I gotta say that I really like this premise and the new direction your taking. I'm already excited fir the new characters, but now that I know they will be involved with Larry and Montimor, it's makes me even more excited. Will Jasper and Vincent also be joining them as well? Because I would love it if they became one big happy family.

2021-12-16 05:31:23 +0000 UTCPlease, continue on working whatever you wish to do at the moment. Do what makes you happy and I guarantee that at least most of the people who love your comics and art will be happy to see what you create. With where Larry and Montimer are now, it feels like season 1 is over and now we're waiting for season 2 which can take however long it needs before it's ready. Whatever you make next, I know I'll be here to see it
