The problem with CGI is that it ages very, very quickly. Disney should have stuck with 2D. Every movie they made up until around 2004 is essentially timeless. Disney's Snow White film is 87 years old and still looks gorgeous. Toy Story is 29 years old and looks hideous.

2024-03-05 19:33:10 +0000 UTCWhat I think is a missed opportunity was that Disney was on its way out of the traditional animation business and going forward with CGI animation. Treasure Planet came out around the same time as Lily & Stitch, in fact from the same animation department at Disney. They were allowed to experiment with stories and art, because the heads of Disney didn't care. Sad.
