Baxter's DLC may still be off in the distance right now, but once it is out there you'll be able to date Baxter in Step 3, have the relationship end, and then get with Cove in Step 4 if you want to. There'll definitely be alterations in Cove's story that reference your old flame.

A bit like him and MC started dating in Step 2 but either lost contact, continued to talk with eac other but broke up because of distance or last option you started a relationship with Cove after promising him to marry him if you never found anyone but then he mention it in Step 4 saying that he's kinda sad we couldn't keep the promise but still try his best to sound cheerful and happy for the MC because I imagine that if Derek would be heartbroken he wouldn't say it, he would just support his friends and he's really really happy for them but secretly he's also sad and you can sometimes see it by his expressions or behavior but he won't say it.

Like minus content from OL1 (it can be mentioned but canon is the MC is with Cove) and I meet his sweet behind in college or something. I would do a spring and fall semester Our Life 4 years (freshman thru senior) any day! New game idea for ya! Lol Baxter just intrigues me and I am excited for the DLC but I am weird and can't live without Cove for OL1. But Baxter needs happiness too...😇🤣🤣😍
