Our Life: Baxter DLC Build 1.6.4B (PC, Mac, & Android)!

Thank you to everyone who has been waiting for this! The very first Baxter Ward DLC Beta is now available π₯³οΈ
Though, this initial beta is a little awkward. Usually updates include one new full Moment, but this time we had to add a chunk of new scenes at the very beginning of Step 3 and then only two out of three parts for a Moment were finished by the end of the month. Also, no alterations based on the new scenes have been added, so these situations are unmentioned anywhere else in the story right now
But it's still a good amount of stuff to play overall, and you get to hang out with the old gang again!
Important Notes To Play the Beta:
- You access Baxter's version of Hang by clicking a yellow button on the righthand side of the Step 3 Moment selection screen. It's not a fully designed screen in this beta, it's got temporary assets
- Baxter's DLC begins in the Step 3 opening. You can play from the beginning of the story until that point or start a new file and use an option at the start of the beta to skip right to Step 3
- Save files from this beta won't work in other beta builds or the main game. You can load saves from the main game in the beta but you need to play Step 3 from the beginning to see the new content
New Content:
- There's now a comfort/interest screen for Baxter
- An expansion to the Step 3 opening is playable
- Two thirds of Baxter's version of Hang is playable
- It's around 20,000 words of new content!
Well, it's been a long time since we were back in Step 3 and even longer since we were promising the chance to get to know bachelor number 3, haha. I hope this first little glimpse into his story is a fun one π€

2022-12-01 08:09:41 +0000 UTCHey I'm back again with some more feedback that may be useful! So, after the beach trip in Hang, and before going to look for an ice-cream truck, Cove puts on a shirt. But then when the group is at the truck, he doesn't have a shirt anymore. Also, if the MC orders an ice-cream sandwich, for a brief moment we see Cove's "cut-in" portrait in the top right part of the screen as if he wanted to comment, but nothing comes out from that and the game proceeds. I guess either he was meant to say something, or the portrait wasn't meant to appear at all?

2022-11-30 04:56:44 +0000 UTCWell then... I said it would take me some time to play through it, and I ended up spending the night on it and going through all the new content already... And I loved every single moment of it. It's... absolutely surreal to actually have a glimpse at this path, even if it's not that big. I think this was even more important to me than I thought it was, as unbelievable as it may seem considering just how much I love Baxter. I literally had a stupid grin on my face the entire time I was playing. I don't remember the last time I actively FELT myself grinning. And couldn't have stopped myself even if I wanted to (which I didn't). It's absolutely awesome to be finally have someone bounce off of my MC's fordwardness - Cove is too shy and Derek way too in denial up until Step 4. My MC's interactions with Baxter were always great, but now it's almost - no scrap the "almost" - it's totally cathartic to see them interact. And that beach scene if the MC encourages Baxter to go in the water and assures him they'll be with him + holds his hand? I just literally melted into a puddle. With my MC, it was a 50/50 - "will he just accept Baxter not wanting to go in the water, or will he gently encourage and offer support?". I'm so glad I've picked that second option on this! That aside, I'm also fortunate - sort of - compared to other people, because while I knew the scene was there, I've actually held back on doing the Soiree in Step 2 in a way that would allow to meet Baxter one to one and dance with him (only met him with Derek), so I sort of had a bonus new scene with him already! And it was just as charming and perfect as I imagined it to be! Long story short. This made my month, and I'm so happy! Thank you for this beautiful gift! As for more "normal" feedback - I stumbled upon a few typos that I'm sure will be ironed out, and also if Baxter comes to the MC's room at the beginning of Hang, during the new scenes the room doesn't display the decorations we set up at the start of the Step (so sometimes they appear and disappear depending on if the scene is new or old). Hope that helps!

2022-11-30 04:54:32 +0000 UTCso apparently the DLC part with Cove and Baxter before going to the beach an all of the options are all bugged out in the general area, I kept pushing through all of that it would go back and forth between different stuff and take me on different routes that I didn't choose. But going through all of that I'm now at the beach past all of that bugged area. not sure about the rest of the DLC yet but seems to be that particular area. this is the dlc for my pc windows that I'm playing on

2022-11-30 03:52:18 +0000 UTCI've rand into a bug or something, when playing Baxter DLC on the part where me and Cove are at his house to pick him up before going to the beach with the others. the 2 options are 1"you needed to get dressed in actual clothing" and 2"you needed to put on a swimsuit on" when I chose the second option it kept bugging out on me where it takes me back to the begging with Cove where thinking about how I feel about my body and so an the options for it.
