We've got this month's question thread ready to go. The questions sent in will get answered at the end of the month in a recording with a text transcript to go along with it.
Small disclaimer and guidelines:
1. Please don't reply to other people's questions even if you know the answer. The fun of joining a Q&A is that the developer can give a direct response to you and that everyone else also gets to hear/see the answer in the end of the month post. Having another player resolve the question in the comments right here might not be what the asker was hoping for. This thread is more about having a good time rather than looking for an immediate response to an important question. And if you do have a question you want to hear about right away, it's best to ask in some other thread or to message me directly.
2. I'm afraid questions about what scenes/choices Our Life: Now & Forever will include aren't answerable right now. Most of the details are decided as the game is created and currently I'm only writing the prologue of Step 1. So, I can't answer questions relating to what for sure will or won't happen past that point. I do know some things coming later, but only a small fraction of the whole game.
3. And the questions can't be about more serious/potentially upsetting topics because I don't want those listening to suddenly be surprised with something they might not have been prepared for/want to be confronted with.

Forever ago I saw a fellow fan create a faux Our Life: Beginnings And Always game cartridge that still fools me to this day thinking it actually exists! I of course believe it would be amazing to have gbpatch games on the switch store for purchase but it's understandable if that isn't a very feasible option (plus I really don't know the process of making something computer to console friendly T-T) No matter what, the effort you and your crew have put into every game is quality at it's finest and the work is always stunning 💛💛💛

Do you listen to music while writing to set the tone, and if so, what albums? And, Sorry if this breaks Rule 3, but were there any moments/plot points you wanted to include, but weren't able to either due to the teen target audience or the more feel-good vibe of the game?

2023-04-10 06:39:16 +0000 UTCIt's my first time jumping into a Q/A post, but I'm desperate for some backstory on one thing in particular - could you provide some insight on Baxter's thoughts/feelings/mindset when it comes to an MC who kept trying to contact him after he left? (Assuming he didn't just block us all until after the reunion in step 4 where he has an actual need to speak to us again lmao.) I'm especially curious for a situation where the MC starts out messaging very frequently and then less and less over time as they lose hope and eventually stop trying to contact him all together and whether he notices/minds that the calls and/or messages have stopped. Thank you for considering an answer! Baxter lives rent free in my mind even more than Cove did and I didn't ever think that was going to happen so hats off to you and the team. He's a complex and fascinating character and I am enthralled.

Made me sad and I ended up wondering how my fave characters would deal with/react to it!

Thank you once again for all the hard work you’ve been doing so far this year :-) I found out not too long after playing the first game that I am on the neurodivergent spectrum, and would love to know if we can choose any identifier choices like that in the upcoming OL2 game, similar to how Cove realized this about himself in later steps as well?

Here I have some questions about the three characters in OL1: (1) What do you think of their MBTI? (2) I want to know what is their libido level like? Is someone particularly hypersexual or frigid? (3) We know that Cove often brings a pile of sand home and smears it on his pants after eating, so how is he doing housework? And after they are with MC, will they be willing to share housework? (4) When they like MC, do they get jealous when they see MC being intimate with others? Thank you for answering and wish you good luck^^.

2023-04-07 15:29:38 +0000 UTCthe trick to getting cove to ask if the only reason you went to his room was because you were horny is being at direct comfort in step 3 - i'm not sure if you need to be at direct comfort in all three, or if it's unnecessary- and to constantly choose the "horny" dialogue options. for example, during moment where you can go jet skiing, cove can start talking about things adults can do, mc can say something along the lines of: "i like where this is going," and then "there are other things adults can do."

This is also my first time participating in an Q and A so sorry if like my questions have been answered before :') Also remember to take breaks and thank you for answering our questions ;0 1) I wanted to know if there will be a jealousy system inplace for OL2? Like will Qiu/Tamarack will get jealous if we spend more time with other people? (I'm a sucker for drama in games.) 2) Can we end up drifting apart in OL2? I noticed that Qiu is popular so it would be interesting to see how the popularity can affect the overall relationship between qiu mc and tamarack in the later stages. Or like can MC just completely drift from both of em. 3) If possible can we get a rough estimate of when the baxer dlc for OL1 will be available? I'm super excited for it and I'm waiting till y'all release it so I can go in blind with his route even if the beta is tempting :'') 4) In the future for OL2 will we get Ren and Baxter as love interests? (sorry if this has been answered before) I liked having derek as one for OL1 but I wish there was more content so I'm hoping that if we do get them as love interests their routes will be more fleshed out if that makes sense. Although we are crushes with Tamarack or Qiu, I remember we have that one romance musical theme that changes over the years! It doesn’t have to be anything crazy but stuff at least that the two leads would consider as more distinctly romantic compared to something they’d do with just another friend?

Was there a specific reason Baxter decided to move to Prism Vista? It's so close to Sunset Bird and you somewhat go there with him in Hang, so what did he think was going to happen? How did he think he was going to avoid MC when he's so close to them (or at least their family home)?

How would the LIs of OL 1 feeling about the MC having a somewhat dangerous job like shark research? I've seen some aspects of that, that include swimming with the sharks without a cage. I guess this would apply more to Derek and Baxter since I have a feeling that Cove would be in the water with the MC.

How would they differ from their cannon selves? First, I know you have said that there is no Patreon bonus moments for Baxter or Derek, but if there was enough want for it (say you took a poll) and then enough Kickstarter backing, would you consider doing an 18+ Patreon moment for Baxter. Second question, and if this is a big spoiler for the rest of the Baxter dlc you can skip, but did Baxter ever date other people after her left Sunset Bird? I know it would have been casual if so. Is that intended to be continued in OL2?

Anyway, onto the question, last month you mentioned that mc personality in OL2 is handled completely different than in OL, and if you don't mind me asking, could you explain in which ways they differ the most? My favorite part of OL1 was how different the MC could behave and how that could alter the story, and so naturally I'm pretty curious on how you'll handle it this time. In Baxters Step 4 you get the option to call Liz or Cove or noone at all. Could you please add a phone call with the worlds best cousin? If I was the MC she would be the first person I'd call. 2. Am I stupid for not knowing what Qiu is talking about when he says to Tamarak that there is one thing you can only do in the forest? And even if I am, can you tell me anyway? 3. Is there going to be one big choice in OL2 like telling cove about the money his dad offered for being friends with him? Something that will come up in the steps and change things in a simular way? 4. Can you just collect the pages of Qius notebook untill you have more pages then he has? I would find that hilarious. 5. On one magical playthrough I had Cove ask me if the only reason I came to his room that night was cause I was horny. That never happend again and I don't know what I did different. I tried many times and never got there again. He only ever asks if I came to kiss him now. Any tipps what that might be about? Thank you for doing those Q&As. I will hopefully find some more things to ask you next month.

Let’s say I have a character assigned female at birth, and therefore uses female pronouns in childhood. However, as they grow older, they would rather use male pronouns and chose to do so. My question is, would other characters, such as Qiu and Tamarack, comment and ask questions about our characters change of pronouns? And are there other things that will play out differently, if our character change pronouns throughout the game? Thank you for answering, and have a great day!

I guess this counts as a second question, but will he also be comfortable going further with them (aka, nsfw stuff)? • How would Baxter react if the MC compares him to Pepe le Pew? (Context: Just asking for a friend because they mentioned they had similarities and I was fighting for my life on why the two were different.) • Does Baxter eat an ice cream sandwich with a fork and knife?

By the time you answer, Baxter's DLC will most likely be done, so maybe I'll have more questions at that point, but oh well... next month I guess! - In the last Q&A, you said Baxter likes tattoos and piercings on other people - and it so happens my MC has both. I was wondering - does he feel the same kind of attraction and sort of thrill to it as Cove has with anklets, or is it more casual so to speak? - And a follow up - does he have a favorite style of tattoos or location for piercings on his partner? Did he get any sleep that night? -With an MC who hates cooking, how does Baxter feel about the idea of being the main cook in the house? -In the scenario where Baxter is deeply in love with the MC and they parted ways years ago without any conflict, how long do you think it would take for Baxter to be open to the idea of marrying the MC after the Step 4? - Does Baxter like MC using his middle name? Like Alexander or just Alex? - What petnames do you think Baxter will use for the MC other than 'darling'? - Generally, we know that OL1 LIs are not possessive or jealous, but would this extend to the partners of their children as well? I can't help but wonder if Baxter would be a bit hesitant about the idea of his kids going on solo vacations with their partner once they turn 18, even though he's done these things himself in the past.
