Patreon Post Schedule Poll
Added 2023-09-14 18:00:03 +0000 UTCHi everybody, I've got a question for you. It's been my goal to post basically everyday on the Patreon and that was easy when two different games were in progress simultaneously with two different art teams creating content for them.
But Our Life: Beginnings & Always has no more scenes left to create and I probably won't post anything about Project W, the game coming after OL:N&F, until 2025. All we've got to share now is a single project: Our Life: Now & Forever.
Only so much art can be finished for that per month. So, we can take the Patreon in two directions.
1. I keep positing everyday but there's an increase in screenshots and that new script snippet types of updates rather than constantly showing brand new assets.
2. I post five days a week, skipping Tuesdays and Saturdays, so that when updates do happen they're less repetitive in type.
I wouldn't want to bury you in writing-related previews if that'd be frustrating, though if people like having their daily GB Patch update than I'm happy to do more of those. Feel free to leave a comment if there's any feedback you want to give on the options.

I realise I'm way late on the initial punch but I'd be fine with only five posts a week (I honestly thought that was what you were going to be doing anyways when you announced you were taking days off) though, like many others, seeing script snippets would be nice. If I'm being honest and if you really feel worried about posting repetitive updates, I would probably hold off on posting the concept art specifically for the backgrounds. They're interesting but I feel they'd work better in an artbook or when the game is in more of a completed state

But honestly, do what you feel is best. You've been talking a lot about taking more time off, so please do :) The most important is your health.

I love the new screenshot and script previews but I think it's also important that you don't overwork yourself and feel like you HAVE TO post updates so regularly here, so just choose whatever solution feels best/comfortable to you. Even less than 5 days per week is fine!!! I'm looking forward to all the posts, no matter how frequent! :D

I guess if you enjoy sharing daily, by all means but please don't feel the need to create things to share if 5 days a week is sufficient. I'd still feel quite spoiled at 5x/week.

I've been not having the time to check the post of discord and could only read your post on mail, and when I saw, the post having pictures was the most best for reading while I was tired. So I like reading the post with screenshots! (OH, but you don't have to post them everyday!!)

2023-09-14 21:45:21 +0000 UTCI'll be honest, when updates are as frequent as they have been I tend to not read them. They just sit in my notification bar until I either click them out of boredom or they disappear when I restart my phone. Less frequent, meatier updates are preferred!

2023-09-14 21:30:03 +0000 UTCI'd be happy if you took time to rest properly, but if you felt like sharing additional previews of the script or screenshots, I'd enjoy those, too. I think you should just do what you want to more in the moment on those days regardless of the poll. As long as it's fun for you and you're not cutting into your rest time too much, that is!

I think it would be better if you didn´t have to worry about Patreon as much. As such my vote is to post five times a week instead (which is still more than 80% of someone with a patreon usually do, so I am very happy with that)

I like to be surprised by the game as well as seeing some of the progress. I feel like it would be easier for you if you did a big once a week game update so it would be less to do cuz you could use that week to setup the update and have some well deserved personal time! Thank you again for my making my favorite PC game ever!!! Your game about Cove was so brilliant. I brag about it to everyone. It's the first time I've ever had a game I would put so much time and effort in, and I'm undiagnosed ADHD so it's hard to keep my attention! Thank you so much for giving me and everyone else so much joy! I can't wait for OL2!!!!!

2023-09-14 18:09:21 +0000 UTCQuality over quantity imo. The previews are great but I don’t think you need to get super creative with making content for them. That said, I do like previews of the script itself, it’s pretty cool to directly see more parts of your workflow :)
