I will say, if you end up watching the series, that the characters are almost all direct references to classic fairy tales or mythological beings. While the characters inspirations done always influence their personalities, you can see some references to their origins throughout the series. A non-spoiler example would be Ruby, the girl in the Red Hood, who in her opening character trailer was besieged by wolves. Or Weiss, the character who’s full name directly translates to “White Snow”, who sings a song about talking to a mirror.
