ngl my favorite character dynamic this season is between Viggo and Kogan. its so interesting to see how Viggo handles like not being the only one in charge, and being challenged and questioned by Kogan. which is something he's ever had to deal with. I also like how Sassy they are towards eachother, ok well the sass is mainly coming from Viggo, and Kogan is just more pissed off. but they really do be acting like bitter exes and I'm here for it.

2023-06-25 16:02:22 +0000 UTCAlso can we take a moment to appreciate how Snotlout immediately takes control of the riders back on the edge. He'd normally just dip or do something selfish if this happened in series 1 but now he's leading the other riders, and they listen without question. And the dynamic between him and Fishlegs is much more two sided. Fishlegs questions his decision and Snotlout listens to it, something he'd never do before. And these new dragon riders are the "dragon flyers" for future reference, and that's because riding is a mutual thing whereas flying is more one sided, which is what they do by whipping the dragons into obedience. Also Krogan's dragon is a Titanwing singetail, hence why it's much bigger than the others.

2023-06-25 15:22:32 +0000 UTCThis is where shit gets serious. The riders completely failed in this episode. They were outskilled, outpowered, taken by surprise and completely unprepared and lost their most defensible position. We rarely see this bad of a failure, and the last time we saw this was in maces and talons parts 1 and 2. But ultimately that's good because their victory is even more satisfying to watch. OH YEAH this is also were the "thing" happens between Hiccup and Astrid. Note how when they left to the island together, after their romantic moment staring into the sun and taking a moonlit flight, they returned only in the morning the NEXT day long after the riders woke up... I never thought of this until Audrie Greywind brought it up in her video but it actually makes sense what happened during the night... Something similar happened in ATLA during that Sukki/Sokka tent scene as well lmfao. I'll let you add two and two together 0_0
