This is the little character bio we made for him:
The new “new kid” on the block. Derek isn’t from the town of Sunset Bird, but he begins to visit the neighborhood once his father arranges business ties with Mr. Holden.
Derek is a lively problem solver who’s easy to get along with. He’s short for his age and tries to make up for that by being especially sporty. And while he’s happy to be buds, giving him extra attention will cause him to start grappling with a crush.
Derek only appears in Steps 2 and 4.
