Project W Post: February 2025

Another Project W Wednesday has arrived 🥳️

We've got the next batch of infographics on the wonderful world of lumulle life. However, don't get too excited when you see the last image! It's about lumulle clothing style, but unfortunately you as the MC will spend most, if not all, scenes in a work uniform. It's not like OL2 where you'll get to design an outfit. You will get to customize your body type/skin tone/head accessories/etc., though.

The reason for this is that in Project W your MC will appear as a sprite in the normal art style! Yes, it won't limited to a simple doll icon anymore. Because it will be drawn in a more complex art style, the trade off is that we can't let players have dozens of clothing options to go over different body types and everything. So, your outfit will be one thing that's decided for you. But you can certainly imagine or eventually make fanart of how you'd like your MC to dress during their off hours using these hot style tips!

Lumulle Info Part 2:

These creatures might be born with a very similar base, however lumulles have endless options for self-expression. For starters, their entire bodies are living planters. A lumulle can chip holes into their outermost layer and place seeds inside to grow from scratch or existing foliage can be grafted onto them and continue to thrive. It’s typical for lumulles to cultivate plants on their head to create a “hairstyle”.

But it doesn’t have to be limited just to that! Anything that can grow on dirt or stone can also grow anywhere on a lumulle. Lumulles love to have plant "accessories" or "enhancers" on their arms, neck, etc.

However, lumulles are made of a flexible clay-type substance, it's not the same texture as raw earth. Lumulle’s skin is comparable to handmade pottery, it takes very well to being painted. They can apply paint like it's human-style makeup and/or they can add decals like non-permanent tattoos.

Lumulles traditionally wear colorful hanging cloth or clothes that are simply knotted to stay in place. Lumulles usually don’t want their body to be restricted or unable to breath/feel the sun. Some lumulles don't wear any clothing, choosing to keep large sections of their body covered in plants they’ve grown. However, lumulles who live in towns developed by humans might follow the buttoned-up clothing style that humans themselves dress in.

(Project W is set in a more historical time period, comparable to late 1800s/early 1900s)

Now that's fun. I think players will create a lot of lovely MCs with this basis for the species. And you'll get to meet plenty of charming lumulle NPCs with all sorts of style, too.
