Here you can ask me things you're wondering about for our games or company and they'll be answered at the end of the month an an audio recording (with a text transcript too). Just make sure the questions long follow the guidelines!
The thread will close after the 19th.
Guidelines:
1. Please don't reply to other people's questions even if you know the answer. The fun of joining a Q&A is that the developer can give a direct response to you and that everyone else also gets to hear/see the answer in the end of the month post. Having another player resolve the question in the comments right here might not be what the asker was hoping for. This thread is more about having a good time rather than looking for an immediate response to an important question. And if you do have a question you want to hear about right away, it's best to ask in some other thread or to message me directly.
2. I'm afraid questions about what scenes/choices/art assets Our Life: Now & Forever will include aren't answerable right now. Most of the details are decided as the game is created and currently I'm only writing Step 1. I do know some things coming later, but only a small fraction of the whole game.
3. The questions can't be about more serious/potentially upsetting topics because I don't want those listening to suddenly be surprised with something they might not have been prepared for/want to be confronted with.
4. Please keep the questions here to things that wouldn't be really hard to tackle in an off-the-cuff, spoken out loud kind of Q&A, aha. Questions about a half dozen characters or wanting an entire theoretical situation described aren't super doable in this situation.
You can always send me questions outside of the audio Q&A if they wouldn't work here!

Greetings again! Hopes you all have a lovely March! <3 1) what would be OL1 LI reaction if MC ask for a pocky game? (assume it to be step 3 or 4) 2) I know Cove himself is not very into video games but would try it out if MC have asked. It makes me curious about his reaction if MC (assume to be love) suggest to play games together that require cooperation such as "it takes two" "overcooked". Would he be very interested to play these kind of games with MC or more like just to simply try it because MC ask for it?

That was a special perk for those who backed the project during crowdfunding sessions. That has passed for the games now." Would be awesome if they did another round of crowdfunding so more names could be added! But idk if that would be fair to the original people who donated.

Would the two of them ever want to be parents? 2. Would Jude and Scott ever play D&D? What would their race and class be? 3. Does Scott have any siblings? From what I remember, his side of the family was never really touched on, compared to Jude and his family. I was just wondering if there’s a canon reason or if that detail didn’t make it into the final product. 4. Would you say that Jude and Scott proving Baxter wrong about their relationship lasting is an inside joke within the group? I find it funny how Jude and Scott call him out on it, as well as Baxter having feelings for the mc, if you’re on a romantic route. 5. Jude and Scott don’t seem to mind if the mc and Baxter got together after their wedding, but would they actually mind? Or is it a point of pride for them because they has made the safe space where mc and Baxter could express themselves? 6. This last one is more about Baxter. On a romantic path, he tells the mc that Jude point blank asked him if he liked the mc. How did Baxter get out of answering that question, or did he give a vague response of some sort? If any of these questions don’t make sense please disregard them, I wrote them all early in the morning. In it during Serendipity (DLC Moment) when he talks about his "quirks" he mentioned he really did have a good time with the friend group as a kid and actually regarded Liz highly; so I was wondering with Shiloh being the snake that he is, was he being genuine about that? Does he actually care about Liz in his own messed up way or was he just saying that in the moment to manipulate the group hounding on him? I kind of imagine he does care about Liz seeing that he even mentions her in XOD but then he starts spouting how he doubts she ever regarded him as a friend which is bs in its finest form so it makes me wonder if he only brought it up for extra pity-me points...

I have one question, I hope it wasn't asked yet, haven't got the time to read all the previous Q&As : Will we have an album of every "special moments" arts in the game OL2 so we can look at them again after playing the scenes ? It would be nice because the arts are sometimes so yummy I'm replaying certains scenes again just to admire them. Besides that, I love OL2 so far and can't wait for the next Beta update !

I kind of just concluded it's because they haven't had crush on a best friend before. Or something along those lines as they always had people crushing on them, so it isn't out of the norm until it occured with a best friend(?) or maybe I'm just thinking too much on it. The moment that triggered this thought was because while replaying Magic, Qiu would hide in their hoodie if the MC decides to stay and have a moment with them in the hideout. And the only difference that happened in the route was that we're also besties

I've been trying to catch up on all the Q&A's I possibly missed, if you answered some, feel free to skip as well. 1. Been catching up on all our life 2 content and oof, seems like being with Qiu would be a bit of a hassle depending on the choices/responses we choose, since they seem rather, more noticeably stubborn in this step. Still love them though!! Will take it on as a challenge but I love how real it is. So I was wondering if they'd be willing to listen to the MC if they tried to help them with their eating "habits"/possible "disorder"? As someone that has witnessed many people go through this, it's somewhat like a sensitive thing for me. Of course, I wouldn't want to have MC shove or try to force them to eat if they didnt want to. Just genuinely concerned for their well-being. Maybe the MC could make them something to eat every now and then? 2. Does MC's mom really not get to fall in love with anyone throughout the steps? I saw a response to one of the questions back in November 2024, on how Opal will never get married. Is that never, as in, for as long as the game goes? or even after the game? Because I know a lot of us, me included, were hoping Mr. Yusuf would fill that role. Maybe I might've missed something a while back. Anyway, sorry, hopefully these aren't too serious, upsetting or spoiler-y. Have a great day!

I have a few questions, but if you don't have time for any of them you can just ignore them. 1. If the mc first language was German/Chinese would Tamarack's grandparents/Qiu's mother be okay with speaking to them in their first language rather than English when it's just them if it was easier for the mc to communicate in their first language. 2. After reuniting with Baxter just as friends, if the mc would to personally ask if they could hire him to plan their wedding, would he be okay with it or would be against it seeing as they're closer now. 3. During the prologue of step one when you meet the second love interest there's a choice that is along the lines of this is that was the second prettiest person you ever seen. Does this mean that in terms of all the pretty people the mc seen, they rank 2nd or that they were second person in terms of number of pretty people they've seen. I know this is a dumb question, but I been racking my brain over it. This is not a question, but although I'm sad XOXO Reunion will never happen, I still love to look at the bits and pieces that are here, I feel the same way about other projects that you planned but never got the opportunity to work on. Even if there will never be a game. I'm also excited for your next game after Our Life Now and Forever even though it's nowhere close to the near future.

So, this time my questions are random and assorted! - Worldbuilding: last month you talked about the genetics of hair and eye colors in the XOXO / Our Life universe, and I actually remember all of that from XOXO, but I thought about my OL2 MC who has two colored hair (very light beige and dark brown, which would be two primary hair colors that are fairly different) and heterochromia (one golden and one orange eye, so two secondary but similar colors)... How is THAT even classified? Also, is it even rarer to have two toned hair with one primary and one secondary color? Same for the eyes. - OL1: is there like ONE thing you'd love to change in one of the leads' backstories if you had the opportunity? Like for example, if you were writing the game now, would you write something differently? - OL1: I recall you saying it would take a long time for Baxter to feel secure and stable enough in a relationship to want to marry. But I was wondering - assuming he knows MC is interested in marriage - would he actually end up proposing, even if it's years after the game's end, or would the MC have to do it? - Project W: can lumulles grow aquatic plants or algae on them? And corals, with these being more akin to animals but still growing on rocks? - Project W: do you have an approximate of the amount of skin and eye color options and plant/flower-hair variants for the MC character creator? Just to know the amount of freedom we can expect - obviously not asking for anything specific so early on! Obviously feel free to skip any question that can't be answered - especially with Project W being in such early stages! Thanks for taking the time each month for this!

As always answer the ones you feel comfortable on explaining and I hope you have a pleasant month! 1. How Qiu and Tamarack feel towards an Mc that was on the Autism spectrum? We all know and love Qiu scattered brained ADHD, and it would be interesting to see how they might get along with someone who is also neurodivergent. Would also be very nice to see how Tamarack would react to the Mc in their day to day hang outs. 2. Expanding off of the last question, my Mc in step 2 has to use noise canceling headphones due to their increased sensitivity to noise and typically has to where them when a lot of people are around like school. How would step two Tamarack and Qiu react towards that? Would they try to be more accommodating to their needs? 3. In step 1, if we chose the option that Mc lost the paper airplane in their house while unpacking. Will it turn up eventually later down the steps? That’s all! I had a few questions. 1. I get the sense that Opal and the MC for OL2 struggled financially before coming to Golden Grove just based on Opal's practicality, her reactions to/attitude toward getting a root beer float, a mention that the MC had always known the value of a dollar, and the mention they'd never stayed in one place for long and never had a house, plus I imagine it's very challenging to be a single mother in one salary. Was that intentional, or am I reading into things too much? Either way, I found it relatable in a comforting way. 2. In Baxter's OL1 Step 3 moment when he talks about how he had friends, was he referring to just Qiu and Renee, or Tamarack and MC as well? 3. Not a question, but I'm really excited and thankful there will be moments focusing on Opal and MC's relationship, I'm very excited to see and play those. :) Thank you again for taking the time to answer questions every month!! :)

I know we get a lot of chances to be physically affectionate with Cove (side note: the piggy back option is absolutely adorable, thank you!), but I mean someone who is practically attatched to others by the hip - constant handholding, linking arms, kissing on the cheek, platonic cuddling on the couch etc. I'm particularly curious how Baxter would react in Step 3 since he tries to keep a certain amount of distance. There’s often kids or babies at weddings, or maybe even a Cove & MC baby later on he’d be introduced to- would he get annoyed easily? Find them too messy? Or a surprisingly good babysitter? I finally did a run through of the demo after about a year and I love how the game is developing. 1) On a surface level, how would you characterize the side characters' popularity or reputation in school during step 2 (relative to Qiu and Tamarack perhaps)? I'm particularly curious about Ren and Vianca! I'd guess their personalities could be polarizing, but I could be totally wrong. 2) I love learning more about the OL2 characters' social dynamics! I was wondering, as of now, do you foresee Tamarack's parents interacting with Opal and the Lins? 3) Do Tamarack's parents place particular importance on Tamarack, or those who she surrounds herself with, performing well academically? 4) I'm candidly not super sure how to phrase this one, so I apologize if it comes out awkward. Do you foresee the MC ever having the option to explicitly or implicitly cite the reason for their (potential) falling out with Opal to be because they perceive her as being too absent? Thank you!

I asked once why Qiu seemed to be bothered when MC chose to pull away from them in the step 2 prologue preview thinking that they would judge the MC and you answered that Qiu is simply not happy when the MC puts distance between them. Will this be a thing that we as players can keep doing and that Qiu can acknowledge and ask the MC about it?

I know that's sorta his thing and the MC can take ballet classes too, so I was just curious if Autumn could ever fall behind or if the MC could get ahead. Also side note, I absolutely adore that we can take ballet classes with them!!
