Chapter 15

“Will I grow more?” She asked Mona. She wanted the real truth this time.

Lucy looked at Mona, her heart ached, but she still had hope. The hope that the amazon woman that sheltered her would, at least now, tell her the truth.

Mona sighed, looked at her in the eyes and said: “I´m not sure. I don´t really know how this works. From my own experience, it´ll stop whenever it has to stop.” That´s not the answer Lucy was looking for.

Not a straight answer, but at least that´s the truth. Mona´s being sincere.

Lucy seemed a bit troubled. She was lied to, she was becoming so big out of someone else´s will. But, was it that bad?

Mona lied, she did a very bad thing! But she can be forgiven. She didn´t do it because she wanted to torture Lucy, she did it because she cared. She wanted her to get away from those troubled thoughts. To escape from her troubled mind.

Maybe, by becoming so tall, so big, the world would become smaller, and less threatening.

It took a lot of thinking, a lot of will power, but, in the end, Lucy forgave Mona.

“I forgive you…” Lucy said, stepping forwards and holding Mona´s hands. “I know you´re… kind, and that you didn´t do this for the wrong reasons. I would´ve preferred if you asked, but I think it´s fine.”

“Oh, dear. Thank you.” Mona replied.

“No, thank you. Thank you for taking care of me. You´re a good friend.” She was, Mona was a good friend, a tutor, a lovely woman. And also… an amazon, both of them were.

Jarred´s standing there, looking up at two sky-scraping ladies. At 5´9”, he feels so tiny next to them. So small, as if he was peeping at the world of the amazons.

“Uhm… I don´t mean to be rude and… interrupt such a lovely moment, but… Lucy, will you come back?” Back with him? Back to the real world?

Lucy looked at Jarred for a moment, this was true, she needed to come back.

But, was it necessary? Does she need to be back right now? Does she want to leave? Maybe… maybe there´s something else she could do…

“No.” Lucy replied.

“What?!” Jarred was confused. Even Mona was impressed by Lucy´s response.

“I mean, I´ll be back, yes. But… not yet.” Lucy started.

“W-When? When will you be back?” Jarred asked, after coming all the way here, to a place he wasn´t sure he´ll find her, even without knowing if he was heading towards the right direction, now that he found her it seems he still hasn´t convinced her.

“I´ll be back when I´m ready.” Lucy declared, walking towards Jarred.

This was overwhelming, the confession itself was a lot to process, but her bigger, and thicker, body makes this much more impressive. Leaving him dumbfounded.

“Listen, I truly appreciate what you´ve done. And… I think we…” Lucy blushed, “we´ll make, uhm… a… a… a lovely couple.” Maybe she´s an amazon on the outside, but on the inside, she´s still the same shy lady. “But I´m going to need some time. I´ll go back when I´m ready. Not before.”

“B-but… what about your job? Do you think you´ll be back before your seven-day vacation is over?” he asked, trying to get an estimate in time.

“No. In fact, I´m not sure if I´ll go back to that same job. Maybe… maybe it´s time for me to get on a different path.” Lucy needs to be open to new possibilities, look for new things that make her feel better.

“So… that means… I won´t be seeing you at the office?” He looked away, even if she´s back, he´ll lose her, that´s how he feels.

“No. But,” Lucy pulled him back at her, placing her fingers on his chin and pulling him gently. “I promise you you´ll be seeing me more. Much more…” she smiled.

That sounds like a promise.

“And… what will you do until then?” Jarred asked.

“I´ll stay here. If Mona allows me to.” Lucy said.

“Of course, dear. It is, and will always be, a pleasure to have you here. Stay as long as you need, for as much as you want.” Mona loved the company, she can´t deny that.

So, it was settled. Lucy will stay for a little longer. How long? Well, Jarred hasn´t leave, and he´s already missing her.

As he left, he had several questions. Should he come back? Maybe every week? Just to check on her. Probably, it´ll be for the best to give her some space.

And he´s also curious about one thing, how different will she be the next time he meets her? And by different he clearly means how much taller?

Well, that´s something that only time will tell…

Jarred got home, feeling sad. More like nostalgic.

So many things will change. It wasn´t that long ago when Lucy was that 5´6” lady he liked to chat with. The beautiful shy lady he met every now and then.

But, when was this giving her too much space? Could that be a thing? Jarred was unsure on what to do.

Two weeks became three, and just when this was about to become a month, he received a message.

“Hello. Guess who´s back? Can you text me your address? I´d like to meet you.” Lucy!!!

Jarred replied within no time. He was so excited!

Actually, he was so excited that he forgot to ask himself one question, how much bigger will she be?

This happened the day she was about to leave Mona´s farm.

“Aww, I can´t believe you´re leaving so soon!” Mona said, her voice sounded like the one of a mother who´s saying goodbye to a child.

“Of course not! You know you don´t look a day over thirty-five.” She winked.

“You silly… ok, but before you go, are you sure you don´t want to stay a few more days? Maybe until we can fetch you some clothes? I know mine are a bit… tight on you nowadays.” Tight?

That was true. Lucy´s growth has been happening, and happening, and happening.

She reached the seven-foot-mark just a couple days before Jarred left. She was so close to Mona´s height.

It felt surreal, she was just two-inches away from being as tall as a woman she used to crane her neck to look at.

Jarred rushed to the door, opened up and then his eyes went wide, and up, and up, and up…
