I know you're editing the next episode right now, so I just want to give you a big hug, I cried the first time I watched it and I'm crying now again, Claudia and Madeleine deserved so much better, but unfortunately Claudia's fate was always sealed because of the reason she exists and the books exist (Anne had a daughter that died before turning 6 years old of leukemia if I'm not mistaken, so Anne wrote IWTV to help her cope with her grief, the second book and forward is her healing and creating the entire lore for this amazing saga) It would be a disrespect to Anne and her daughter to not have Claudia die :( it's really sad and in my head they are til this day travelling the world together.

When you think about it, every time Louis got closer to Armand romantically was always because he sensed Claudia was in danger. That man knew Armand was a threat even then. He said "I had you covered." and "Armand's mine" to Claudia when he sees her with Madeleine. He thought he could "control" the man, little did he know...

You crying when you got to know more about Claudia and Madeline was me when I first watched the episode. Seriously, that on was so devastating for me, cuz Claudia is my favorite character in the show along with Louis and Daniel. I mean, I love Armand's demonic ass and Lestat is absolutely great in the sense that he's so interesting. But the leads, Louis and Claudia, make the show for me. Also, I love Madeleine. Episode 6 is one of my faves too and next episode is one of the best episode in the show. One that I could never rewatch because it's too much. Bring on the tissues everyone! Also, I don't know if you've watched episode 8 eight yet but let me tell you that one is fantastic too. A great season finale!

Also, something I really loved about this episode, and the previous episode (those last few minutes), is the undercurrent of acknowledgment that Louis is aware of Armand’s manipulation and Armand is aware, too, but no one is saying it aloud. Armand is/was still grasping the reigns of Louis’ sanity while Louis was trying to unravel it, passive-aggressively. I also watched these last few eps hella high, so I could be wrong.

I remember the first time I ever watched this and had a near anxiety attack just thinking about episode 7, I had to CLENCH my chair with my actual NAILS to keep me seated through it. To this day I just do heavy breathing exercises rewatching it bc of all its painful, raw magnificence. On the other hand, this episode is so good at digging into Madeleine&Claudia and her and Louis' evolved relationship, how both of their individual choices (and yes Claudia has made hers too, accountability goes both ways) have finally lead them here, to finally look at each other as sth closer to equals, growing pains and imperfections and all. There's beauty in that honesty. Aaaannd then Armand and the fuckingfuckityfuck coven has to happen and anything resembling hope is summarily crushed bc fuuuu--! 🫠🫠🙃🙃 Being both the book and movie lover has not made knowing about Claudia's end much easier bc she has been so well acted and written in this show aaahhh-

It killed me as well. They gave Madelin and Claudia a much richer story, more depth. It made the emotions fly even harder. When Louis was talking about how Madelin saw Claudia is when I came undone. It was so tenderly written. There's a quote from Julia Roberts that went through my head: "The key to beauty is always to be looking at someone who loves you really.” I thought that scene was her words put into motion.
