最近、というか以前からSNSで生成AIへの過激な批判を目にします。

もし支援者の皆さまの中に、私を支援することに対して心のどこかにもやもやを抱えている方がいらっしゃったら申し訳ないなと思っています。その場合は技術に対する私の説明不足も一因かもしれないので。

実際のところご存じの通り現実はそう単純ではなく、真っ黒でも真っ白でもありません。立場や理解度によっても変わるでしょうし、時期にもよると思います。だから議論が続いていますし、推進派も規制派も一部の方は筋の通っていない感情的な批判を繰り返しています。

新しい道具なのでまだ皆わからないですし、新しいものを恐れ遠ざけようとする人がいるのも当然です。新しいから知らないし、知らないから怖いし。

私に何をどこまで説明する責任があるのか分かりませんが、納得感を持って見ていただくためにもどこかで画像生成AIの仕組みも説明しなくてはとずっと考えていたままやれていません。もうすぐ投稿を始めて1年になるので、この1年間生成AIを触ってみて感じたことをまとめるつもりです。その過程で私の生成AIへの理解を皆さまにも共有できればと思っています。

なんだか暗めの話題ですが最近インプットが充実していていい感じです！今日も絵画教室の作品発表展示会に行ってました。雑居ビルの狭いワンフロアでやってるようなやつ。プロ以外の絵を見れるのもいいし、本屋的に興味ないものも見れるのもいいし。上野の国立西洋美術館でやってるキュビズム展もおすすめです！

I usually sell a monthly compilation on BOOTH, but I'm taking a break from selling this December's edition as it's mostly seasonal (Santa) content, and it feels a bit odd to start selling it now. Hence, Vol. 4.5.

Lately, or rather for some time now, I've seen intense criticisms of generative AI on social media. If any of you, my supporters, feel any unease about supporting me, I'm sincerely sorry. If that's the case, perhaps my failure to adequately explain the technology is partly to blame. As you know, reality isn't that simple - it's neither completely black nor white. It varies depending on one's perspective and understanding, and it changes over time. That's why there's ongoing debate, and both advocates and opponents continue to express their sometimes emotional, unfounded criticisms. It's a new tool, so it's natural for everyone to not fully understand it yet, and it's also natural for some people to fear and shun what they don't know. Since it's new, it's unknown; since it's unknown, it's frightening. I'm not sure to what extent I'm responsible for explaining, but to help you all feel more satisfied viewing my work, I've been planning to explain the workings of image-generating AI at some point. Soon, it'll be a year since I started posting, and I intend to compile my experiences and thoughts on working with generative AI over this year. In the process, I hope to share my understanding of generative AI with you all.

This might sound like a gloomy topic, but I've been having great inputs lately! Today, I even attended an art class exhibition. It was a small event on a single floor of a mixed-use building. Seeing non-professional art is refreshing, and it's great to explore things outside of my usual interests. I also recommend the Cubism exhibition at the National Museum of Western Art in Ueno!
