Chapter 40: Wildfire Auntie, the Invincible Demolitionist

[Ahaha, the Nameless' demolition crew has arrived! (〃'▽'〃)]

[And the author has decided to give the Goethe Hotel landlady a completely outrageous makeover. Her original frail and pitiful appearance was giving the author a headache.]

-

"Alright, let's go down before more people gather and we get stuck here," Theresa urged. Bronya nodded, smiling as she scooped Theresa into her arms. March 7th and Stelle watched the amusing scene with delight.

"Hey, Bronya, put me down!" Theresa protested, her face flushed in Bronya's embrace. Bronya simply shook her head with a tender smile, unwilling to let go of the fragrant, soft, and considerate Theresa she adored.

"Ooh!"

"Ooh!"

"Ah, I'm dying!"

"They're so beautiful!"

As Bronya and the others appeared, the Underworld residents erupted in excited gasps and cheers. Many hot-blooded young men were left gaping, mesmerized by the girls' beauty, grinning like fools.

"..."

"Let's hurry and get out of here," Dan Heng said calmly, enduring the envious and resentful stares. He'd once again become an innocent bystander, simply by being near the girls.

"Damn it, they're too enviable!"

"That silver-haired girl is stunning!"

"The white-haired loli she's carrying is adorable!"

"Whoa, buddy, you're looking at a minimum five-year sentence!"

"Cure for loli obsession: one bullet at a time!"

The residents of the Underworld erupted in shouts, but as the young girl stepped out of the vehicle, they quietly retreated. Ashamed of their humble status, they felt unworthy of tainting such refined beings. As Bronya carried Theresa, March 7th, and Stelle through the crowd, people hastily parted before them.

"..."

Dan Heng reluctantly trailed behind, enduring the laser-like gazes of the crowd. The envious, jealous, and resentful stares from the young men left him utterly exasperated.

"Hello everyone! We're from the Overworld and accidentally ended up here. Could someone recommend a place for us to stay?" Theresa asked shyly, her soft, endearing voice drawing cheerful smiles from the crowd.

"I know a place! Follow me!"

"This is going to be a tough fight!"

"Is that 'place' your house?"

"Get lost, you meddling bastard! You're ruining my chances!"

The young men erupted into an angry scuffle.

"We're just looking for a hotel to stay in for a while," Theresa said.

"Thank you, everyone! Let's go!" March 7th called out politely, leading Bronya, who was carrying Theresa, Stelle, and Dan Heng—the target of envious glares from the crowd—toward the Goethe Hotel. The onlookers reluctantly pointed to the dilapidated establishment in the distance, a stark contrast to the luxurious Goethe Hotel in the Overworld.

As the group of five approached the Goethe Hotel, the landlady greeted them warmly. "Oh my, what beautiful young ladies! Checking in, are you? Come here, Auntie! The regular price is thirty Shields per day, but for you darlings, it's only ten Shields a day—meals included!"

"And don't worry, Auntie's place has a Wildfire shield! No one would dare cause trouble here. You're safe with me; I won't let anyone mess with you!"

The landlady exclaimed excitedly. Bronya set Theresa down, and the little girl, relieved, took dainty steps toward the Goethe Boss, who seemed utterly charmed by her cuteness. Theresa's sweet, doting expression sent a chill down the landlady's spine.

As the group departed, the crowd dispersed, unwilling to cause trouble with Wildfire's protection. Though many secretly wished they could cuddle the irresistibly cute Theresa, it remained a fleeting fantasy.

"Auntie, hello! We were hoping to stay here for a while. Would that be possible?" Theresa asked, a little nervously, smiling at the jovial Goethe Hotel landlady.

"Oh, you sweet little thing! Of course, Auntie would love to have you!" the landlady exclaimed warmly. "You're clearly from the Overworld—so lovely to look at! A real treat for the eyes!"

"Come, girls, follow Auntie! I promise no one will bother you here!"

"Hmm?"

"What are you staring at?! Want a taste of my broom?" The landlady roared, her face suddenly turning fierce as she spotted a group of young men from the Underworld lurking nearby, their sleeves rolled up and faces twisted into menacing expressions. Her burly arms were thicker than most people's thighs, and her ferocious glare sent shivers down their spines.

After all, the landlady's fighting prowess was legendary. Once, a rat had tried to sneak into her hotel to nest, only to be kicked out onto the street by the enraged woman. With a furious roar, she leaped into the air and slammed her broom onto the ground with a deafening thud! The broom snapped, the ground cracked, and the rat was reduced to a flattened pancake.

From that day on, no one dared to cross her.

"Eh~ Don't be scared, girls! Auntie's a good person—I'm even a member of Wildfire!"

Auntie beamed warmly at Theresa and the others, then scrutinized Dan Heng, who met her gaze with calm composure.

"Girls, is he with you?" Auntie asked, gripping her broom tightly as she stared at Dan Heng.

Dan Heng was exasperated. Why is everyone in the Underworld so hostile to me just because I'm not a cute girl?

"Yes! Dan Heng is with us—he's our companion!" March 7th blurted out, Theresa nodding vigorously in agreement. Though a mischievous part of her wanted to see Dan Heng get kicked out for the entertainment, she had promised Old Yang never to make fun of her own comrades. So she kept her thoughts to herself.

"Oh, I see! Auntie misunderstood you, young man. You look quite respectable. Good, good. Auntie approves!"

Thump, thump, thump!

The Goethe Boss slapped Dan Heng's shoulder with her massive, fan-sized hand, laughing heartily. Dan Heng grimaced, nodding stiffly as he rubbed his throbbing shoulder. He swore being struck by the Antimatter Legion hadn't hurt this much!

"Hehe, what would you girls like to eat? Auntie will whip something up for you!"

Auntie enthusiastically demonstrated various workout moves, her bulging muscles making everyone a little uneasy as she chuckled.

"We had Stone-Grilled Olm and Rock-Dwelling Crab at the Goethe Hotel in the Overworld. Do you have those here?" March 7th asked timidly, watching Auntie's vigorous routine.

"Ah-ha! Of course! And the Goethe Hotel upstairs? They're family, related to us!" Auntie exclaimed with a hearty laugh. "But my cooking is much more authentic than theirs!"

Theresa quickly stood on tiptoe to hand the towering woman a stack of Shield notes. "Here's our lodging fee, Auntie. Is it 300 per person for a month?"

"Eh, that's right, Little Cutie! Let Auntie give you a hug!" Auntie swept Theresa into a cheerful embrace. Theresa froze, feeling like she was being squeezed against a body as solid as reinforced concrete. The unyielding hug sent shivers down her spine.
