Hello patrons! I'm still working on the next Ozzie chapter, pages of those should be going up here soon. In the meantime I wanted to start uploading my other stuff here and make this patreon a hub for all my comic adventures!
Some quick history: I first drew Monster Country back in 2011. Back then I was getting ready for the MoCCA Art Festival and greatly underestimated how much time it would take to get a book made of my Station Square comics, so I had to come up with something else about a month before the convention. I ended up penciling this entire comic in a Panera in one sitting!
Since then, Monster Country became a smaller series I'd do minicomics of at each convention. It was planned to just be about 6 issues or so, and I got up to issue 4 of it done, but bad luck with convention table lotteries and other commitments caused it to fall to the wayside a bit.
In 2019 I went back and touched up the art and colored the first issue. In 2020 I did the same with the second issue but... covid happened and ended all conventions and sort of derailed my plans for everything (x__x). In any case I'd like to finally finish this little tale up, so here it is! When it's all done I'd like to collect it all in a single paperback or something.
Like with Station Square, Monster Country is based on old comics I used to draw in my childhood. The character of Drill is pretty much ripped off from a character from a game I used to love back then (Golden Axe: The Duel) and Chip-Chip is even older than that, I used to draw him in my notebooks in elementary school!
This comic is probably showing its age at this point but I still think it's a fun read. I hope you enjoy it! Issue 2 will be up soon. I'd like to get this Patreon to a point where there's a new original comic here every month or more realistically bi-monthly. We shall see!
