Chapter 41: The God's Perspective

With Ke Lu's decisive approval of the protocol amendments, Hysilens bowed gracefully, showing no dissatisfaction with Ke Lu's knowledge. "As you command."
She picked up the discarded agreement and her briefcase, heading for the door. Before leaving, she said, "Imperator, the letters sent from A City have been placed in your room."
Letters? Ke Lu couldn't help but be taken aback. Who still writes letters these days?
What could be so urgent that a phone call couldn't handle it?
Still, Ke Lu could guess the sender: aside from her younger brother, Ke Yang, no one else would bother.
Driven by a mix of curiosity and puzzlement, Ke Lu opened the door and immediately spotted a neatly stacked pile of letters on the table.
The envelopes were pristine white, each bearing a dove-shaped seal. Several included postcards, a clear indication of the sender's sincerity.
Patiently, Ke Lu opened each letter and read it carefully.
Most contained expressions of longing, while others shared updates on the Ke Family's current suppression, their tone laced with schadenfreude.
Then, one day—presumably after Hysilens informed Uncle Su and Ke Yang that the two of them were trapped in the Secret Realm—the letters changed: "Sis still hasn't come out today. Waiting online, kinda urgent."
Across time and space, Ke Lu could feel Ke Yang's anxiety and unease through these letters.
This anxious tone persisted until the letter that had just arrived today.
Truly... so foolish, Ke Lu sighed softly. Wait, I should write back too, though I still don't understand why he insists on writing letters.
Ke Lu flipped through the letters to the earliest ones. After reading the contents, her eyebrows shot up in clear surprise.
They read: "I'm training under Uncle Su's guidance, and now I'm forbidden from using electronic devices!"
For a modern person, being banned from using electronic devices was as difficult as quitting drugs. Ke Lu had never expected Ke Yang to go to such lengths.
Ke Lu replied, "I'm safe and well now. With such determination, you'll succeed in anything you set your mind to."
Knock, knock, knock! The wooden door was pounded loudly, lacking the polite elegance of Hysilens's knocks. It was undoubtedly Su Rou.
"Come in."
The door creaked open a crack, and Su Rou peered in cautiously. "I've run out of face masks. Do you have any spares?"
She grumbled, "Staying in the Secret Realm for so long has ruined my skin."
"Brand new ones are in the red cabinet, third drawer from the top," Ke Lu replied. Her memory was sharp; she recalled the exact location perfectly.
She remembered that Su Rou had given her those masks for her birthday, but Ke Lu had never been interested in them and had never used them.
Su Rou hummed in agreement and was about to rummage through the cabinet when Ke Lu suddenly spoke up, "If you want a beauty treatment, I could actually help you with that."
"You?" Su Rou widened her eyes dramatically, her expression exaggerated as she leaned in closer. "How?"
She remembered that Ke Lu had never shown any interest in such things. Despite Su Rou's efforts to recommend products to her friend, she had always failed.
Could it be that Ke Lu had secretly become interested in beauty without me knowing? If so, that would be great news, Su Rou thought.
Just as she was pondering this, she felt a sudden itch on her face. Ke Lu's hand was moving over her face, comparing, feeling, and probing.
If Ke Lu's expression weren't so focused, as if she were studying an academic paper, one might mistake her for some lecherous rogue trying to seduce a young woman.
At the same time, it felt as if Spirit Power was flowing beneath her skin.
Intrigued, Su Rou held still, determined to see what Ke Lu was up to.
From Ke Lu's perspective, everything was quietly transforming.
Su Rou's face began to abstract, gradually shifting from a smooth, pretty face into a particle-like form.
This wasn't a blurring of details, but rather a sharpening, a revelation of its true essence.
It's working, Ke Lu thought.
She had just had a sudden inspiration—wondering if the abilities she had gained upon achieving Godhood could be used to alter appearances. She had used Su Rou as a test subject, and now it seemed there was indeed room for manipulation.
Su Rou's eyes widened in confusion as Ke Lu withdrew her hand. "What are you doing?" she asked urgently.
Ke Lu didn't hesitate to reveal her discovery. "After comprehending the Law and becoming the Lord of the Secret Realm, my eyes can perceive the fundamental essence of things—like the very structure of matter."
"Take humans, for example. From my perspective, we're just massive clusters of particles surrounding a core—what we might call the soul."
"And as long as this core remains unchanged, I seem to be able to manipulate the outer particles to some extent."
Su Rou grasped the implication instantly, startling her upright. "You mean you can change your appearance using this method?"
"Exactly," Ke Lu snapped her fingers. "This can be achieved through Spirit Power manipulation and reconstruction. My current Power Level is too low for major transformations, only allowing for minor adjustments. But once my Power Level is sufficient..."
Ke Lu gazed out at the landscape and said slowly, "I could transform into flowers, trees, birds, beasts—into all the myriad forms of creation."
"Whoa," Su Rou gasped, drawing in a sharp breath. "This is even more impressive than the Seventy-Two Transformations!"
"Though," Su Rou pondered aloud, "its practical applications seem limited. After all, there are plenty of skills for altering one's physical form."
"This is different," Ke Lu countered. "Most appearance-altering skills are mere illusions—smoke and mirrors."
"The changes brought about by such skills are crude," Ke Lu explained. "It's like cosmetic surgery—from my perspective, it completely disrupts the original state of things, leaving obvious traces."
Well... I can't see any of that, Su Rou thought.
"But changes that directly target the essence of things are perfect and unbreakable by any means."
"That's pretty impressive," Su Rou genuinely praised. "Painless, side-effect-free cosmetic surgery? If you sold that outside, you'd be rolling in money! Am I fully transformed now?"
Su Rou scrutinized her reflection in the mirror. The wrinkles on her skin had vanished completely, leaving no trace whatsoever—far better than any skincare product she had ever used.
Unable to contain her excitement, she threw her arms around Ke Lu's shoulders. "Oh, sweetie! You're the best!" she gushed, leaning in to give Ke Lu a peck on the cheek.
Ke Lu rolled her eyes dramatically. "Go, go, go! I still need to read."
"You're so quick to run off at the slightest bit of flattery," Su Rou teased. "You'll get swindled out of your pants the moment you go outside."
"What nonsense!" Su Rou retorted, her face flushed with indignation. "This Miss has already downloaded an anti-fraud app. Self-reliance is my middle name!"
Just as she finished speaking, Ke Lu's vision blurred.
She seemed to see a massive web woven from countless fine threads, entangling a massive circular wheel.
Wheel of Destiny, a term inexplicably surfaced in Ke Lu's mind.
She saw it—a thread of destiny flew from Su Rou's body, intertwined with another red thread, and finally turned gray.
This mystical vision lasted only a moment in Ke Lu's eyes before abruptly shattering and collapsing.
In reality, Su Rou only saw Ke Lu's eyes suddenly widen as if witnessing something shocking, her entire body freezing in place like a jammed mechanism.
Su Rou's expression tightened, clutching the Healing Spell and Dispel skills in her hand, ready to use them. Before she could act, Ke Lu jolted awake, gasping for breath.
"Lulu!" Su Rou pressed her shoulder, anxiously asking, "What happened to you just now?"
"It's nothing," Ke Lu waved her off. "I'm just exhausted. Everything went black for a moment."
"Should we go to the hospital?" Su Rou's worry hadn't eased.
"Really, no need. I know my body. Just let me get some sleep."
"Alright," Su Rou conceded reluctantly. "I'm practically a doctor myself. Tell me immediately if you feel unwell."
With that promise secured, she slowly withdrew.
After she was gone, Ke Lu pondered alone: Was that... Su Rou's destiny?
It must be my rudimentary understanding of the Law of Destiny, allowing me fleeting glimpses of the future under certain circumstances.
Ke Lu's gaze darkened as she rubbed her temples.
Though I can't fully decipher it yet, I sense it clearly: Su Rou's fate is far from smooth sailing.
