Day 166 part 2: Post-Parlay Depression

(The title is supposed to be a reference to "after talking about depression." Not totally sure we got away with that one)

Content warning: very light mention of suicide in this piece (Ronnie Edwards from Game Theory).

Edward and Jessica talk about recording his experiences with depression.

Day 166 part 2: Post-Parlay Depression

Comments

I have struggled through a lot and within the past year I've finally made some serious growth with my mental health. I'm happy to say that major depressive disorder is now listed as "partial remission" (very much still there, especially if I don't take my meds, but better enough that it doesn't kick my butt every. single. day.) on my appointment summaries with my psychiatrist. Thank you for sharing your story and for opening your hearts (and brains) with us. <3

I've been away a while dealing with life stuff so not up to date. Edward has a gaming channel? EDIT: After watching the most recent vlogs I wanted to be more honest (in the spirit of the vlogs/upcoming video). Had a few setbacks both with academic career and family matters. I'm an attorney (under an LPA) for my grandmother with Dementia. Am attorney in this sense in the UK is not a lawyer like in the US: 'A lasting power of attorney (LPA) is a legal document that lets you (the ‘donor’) appoint one or more people (known as ‘attorneys’) to help you make decisions or to make decisions on your behalf.' Essentially I am responsible for making decisions with the same powers as if my grandmother requested it. As my grandmother's health has been declining it has been rather intense and depression has reared it's ugly head while I have been balancing this and my academic career being pushed back to next year *sigh*. Just a quick update :D

I love ya'll so much! I know this is so hard and it sucks. I commend you Edward for pouring out your soul to us. Also, ya'll are so darn adorable holding hands and comforting each other. It's like "These people really do love each other!" Not that I had doubts. Please take all the time you need. I'm so sorry for your loss. You're in my thoughts and prayers.
