Day 174 - Brandy Passed
Added 2018-08-21 12:34:52 +0000 UTCToday, we had to put down Brandy. She's been Jessica's dog since Jessica was twenty - basically, Jessica's entire adult life. Edward tells the story of how it went, but in case that might be too intense for you, the short version of it is: Brandy's last moments were tasting a delicious cheeseburger that was just for her (ok, we gave Chloe a little), and slipping into a lovely nap while her favorite human told her what a good dog she was. Hug somebody you care about, everybody.

For our beloved pets, so often the medical interventions we do to keep them around for us, amount to medical torture for them. I know if the vet had said there was a lot of hope, if she was younger, if it was something which could be fixed for certain, you both would have done everything you have for her. Given the circumstances, letting her go quickly was the best for all. As for the very last--live in the now. As Brains we are very good at that. Eat that cheeseburger, give that hug <3
