Hey Kevlar :) Yeah I find it to be really effective after I've had it on for five minutes or so. It makes it easier for me to maintain focus than I manage without. The first time I used it I felt a bit like a superhero! Of coure your mileage may vary, but I'd recommend at least the free trial! :)

2019-04-15 22:34:30 +0000 UTCI used to work from home and found I'd get too distracted by the fact that I was surrounded by literally all of the things I own. I now have a desk in a shared office, and I've invested in some seriously good noise-cancelling headphones. That and using www.brain.fm can see me being ridiculously productive! My work/life balance is massively important, and I think just the act of walking ten minutes to get to my office really helps me frame what's to come as "work". Similarly when I go home I know I've left work behind and I'm in "home" mode. It's helped me massively! Make sure you make the basement comfortable though - natural light is also important!

2019-03-20 23:25:43 +0000 UTCThe need for a transition is real. I work from home several times a week and there is a noticeable difference in my level of engagement in that first hour. If I drive to work at a shared space cubicle I'm generally more engaged. There is also the issue of office clutter in my home office. The shared space cubes are always free of distraction.

2019-03-20 21:59:46 +0000 UTCI do use WeWork, and they're the largest. But there seem to be tons of co-working spaces that aren't huge, nationwide brands. Some are even industry-specific. You can Google top co-working spaces, or even just search Google Maps in your area for "co-working space" to pick one close by.

2019-03-20 21:02:36 +0000 UTCMy co-working space subscription is the single most justifiable monthly expense for me. The change in setting is immensely powerful. I guess it's just part of that external support structure we ADHD brains need.
