The emotional neglect trauma I suffered was similar to yours, although some of the circumstances were different. I'm still unraveling the part about needs, and you mentioned sharing resources about identifying human needs, but I didn't see those in the description. Did my ADHD brain miss those? :) Thanks for all you do, Jessica and team. It's a comfort to have a community where our neurodiversity is the norm and we can freely learn, share and support each other. You've created a beautiful thing!

Pretending that I can find my needs and meet them because I'm an adult. I finally have an incredible, supportive, interdependent friend group and we all help push one another to verbalize our needs and give and get help on things. You're awesome!! Thank you for posting this :)

In the past I've always tried to give a lot. But so many times things just backfired. So, in way I got more careful. But it also got me thinking to my needs in the past. One of those needs was a proper diagnose. Which I never got, because my mom wouldn't see my need. The hardware store & oranges analogy made me smile XD Extra kudo's on how you integrated the sponsored content of copilot. It really felt like a story in a story. ❤️

If no one ever steps off the triangle, (and some of the things you mention will get a person off from being on it) nothing will change. Around and around in pain.

I've just come out of a secondary relationship that had really become unhealthy due to how much of myself I was sacrificing to support them emotionally, but I didn't realize until it ended catastrophically.
